History

Fulhold Pharma was incorporated in February 2014. [2] The main reason was to consolidate its predecessor, Fulhold Ltd (BVI) and its other operations, and to create a vehicle for raising further funding.

Fulhold Pharma’s Intellectual Property is a biological platform technology with a wide range of applications in human and animal health. This was developed over a period of 10 years prior to the incorporation of Fulhold Pharma. The molecule that is at the heart of this biological platform is CarboHydrate Derived Fulvic Acid (CHD-FA).

CHD-FA is a broad-spectrum anti-microbial/anti-inflammatory compound active on drug resistant Gram positive, Gram negative, and fungal pathogens that can be both ingested and topically applied. CHD-FA in combination with lower levels of antibiotics has demonstrated the same efficacy as higher levels of the same antibiotics alone.

The company's shares were admitted for trading on the GXG Market on 14 April 2015. Trading was suspended on 3 June 2015 at a price of 1.40 GBP and a market capitalisation of $108.9 million. [2] [3] [4] According to financial media group, MoneyWeb, the trading suspension was due to "fallout from the investigations into companies with links to Belvedere Management." [2] A June 2015 article in BizNews described Belvedere Management as one of "four dubious British shell companies." [5] Shareholders include founding director David Cosgrove, who resigned in March 2015, as well as Dualstar Capital Private Equity Fund and the Alexander High Yield Fund. [2] A regulatory investigation by the Guernsey Financial Services Commission (GFSC) downgraded these original accusations to technical administrative breaches and ended in 2017 without any action being taken. A parallel investigation in Mauritius is currently facing legal challenge. [6]

In August 2015, the company acquired Ful Hold Limited [2] which had worked on a topical drug for wounds with Euprotec in 2013. [7]

An antibiotic is a type of antimicrobial substance active against bacteria. It is the most important type of antibacterial agent for fighting bacterial infections, and antibiotic medications are widely used in the treatment and prevention of such infections. They may either kill or inhibit the growth of bacteria. A limited number of antibiotics also possess antiprotozoal activity. Antibiotics are not effective against viruses such as the common cold or influenza; drugs which inhibit growth of viruses are termed antiviral drugs or antivirals rather than antibiotics. They are also not effective against fungi; drugs which inhibit growth of fungi are called antifungal drugs.

Broad-spectrum antibiotic Treatment for a wide range of bacteria

A broad-spectrum antibiotic is an antibiotic that acts on the two major bacterial groups, Gram-positive and Gram-negative, or any antibiotic that acts against a wide range of disease-causing bacteria. These medications are used when a bacterial infection is suspected but the group of bacteria is unknown or when infection with multiple groups of bacteria is suspected. This is in contrast to a narrow-spectrum antibiotic, which is effective against only a specific group of bacteria. Although powerful, broad-spectrum antibiotics pose specific risks, particularly the disruption of native, normal bacteria and the development of antimicrobial resistance. An example of a commonly used broad-spectrum antibiotic is ampicillin.

Antimicrobial peptides (AMPs), also called host defence peptides (HDPs) are part of the innate immune response found among all classes of life. Fundamental differences exist between prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells that may represent targets for antimicrobial peptides. These peptides are potent, broad spectrum antimicrobials which demonstrate potential as novel therapeutic agents. Antimicrobial peptides have been demonstrated to kill Gram negative and Gram positive bacteria, enveloped viruses, fungi and even transformed or cancerous cells. Unlike the majority of conventional antibiotics it appears that antimicrobial peptides frequently destabilize biological membranes, can form transmembrane channels, and may also have the ability to enhance immunity by functioning as immunomodulators.

Betamethasone dipropionate is a "super high potency" corticosteroid used to treat inflammatory skin conditions such as dermatitis, eczema and psoriasis. It is a synthetic analog of the adrenal corticosteroids. Although its exact mechanism of action is not known, it is effective when applied topically to cortico-responsive inflammatory dermatoses. A proteolipid is a protein covalently linked to lipid molecules, which can be fatty acids, isoprenoids or sterols. The process of such a linkage is known as protein lipidation, and falls into the wider category of acylation and post-translational modification. Proteolipids are abundant in brain tissue, and are also present in many other animal and plant tissues. They include ghrelin, a peptide hormone associated with feeding. Many proteolipids are composed of proteins covalenently bound to fatty acid chains, often granting them an interface for interacting with biological membranes. They are not to be confused with lipoproteins, a kind of spherical assembly made up of many molecules of lipids and some apolipoproteins.
