Fun With Food was a television cooking program that screened on the Nine Network in Australia between 1960 and 1971. The compere of the program was cooking expert Geraldine Dillon.

History

Fun With Food was a half hour television cooking show made in Melbourne and screened nationally every week-day on the Nine Network in the 1960s. [1] Each episode featured the host demonstrating how to prepare several different dishes, drawing on various national cuisines and using a variety of cooking methods. [2] It was one of the first television cooking series after television began in Australia in 1956.

The compere was Melbourne-born culinary expert Geraldine Dillon. She had studied at The Emily McPherson College of Domestic Sciences in Melbourne and had completed an advanced course at The Cordon Bleu School in London. [3]

Dillon later hosted another television show for the Nine network. [4] It was called TV Kitchen and was a cooking show that ran for 15 minutes and was screened once a week on the Nine Network from February 1971 till 1976.

Jack Perry and Douglas McKenzie — were an entertainer duo from Melbourne who were known and billed professionally as the clown act, Zig and Zag. They appeared on Australian television from its inception in 1956 to 1999 beginning with Peters Fun Fair (1956–69). They featured on the annual Moomba parade, and were regulars at annual charity events including the Good Friday Appeal for the Royal Children's Hospital. Perry was also an actor on television serials and presenter whilst McKenzie, was also a radio and television presenter and producer and former soldier. In March 1999 the duo permanently parted company after it was revealed that Jack Perry had been convicted in 1994 of indecent assault on his granddaughter.

Darren & Brose are Darren Chau and Brose Avard, two Australia-based comedy writers and performers who first met while studying media at La Trobe University. Chau had been working with the comedy ensemble Chop-Socky, while Avard had been producing and broadcasting on several Melbourne radio stations. They co-founded the Latrobe Media Group and produced comedy shows for the Melbourne Fringe Festival, Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Channel 31 and Network Ten's ONE.

Daniel Robert Boome,, is a chef, athlete and health enthusiast. He is also the host of the syndicated TV show Recipe Rehab when aired on Litton's Weekend Adventure. He grew up in Peterborough, England and began his career as a professional ice hockey player. He became Captain of England at the age of 16 and capped over 20 times for Great Britain.

Restaurant Revolution was an Australian cooking reality television series which screened on the Seven Network in 2015. The show consisted of five teams of one, two, three or four people with a pre-existing relationship competing to turn their vision for a restaurant into a reality. The teams were given the chance to design and run their own pop-up restaurant with viewers able to dine in and experience the food, service and atmosphere. The show was hosted by Scottish-born restaurateur Jock Zonfrillo.

Geraldine Anne Dillon (1936–2020) was an Australian culinary expert. She presented television cooking shows and spoke about food on radio in Australia in the 1960s and 1970s. She also wrote recipe books and newspaper columns on food preparation.
