Furslide was an alternative rock band from New York, NY. They released one full-length album, called Adventure , which was released on Meanwhile..., a sublabel of Virgin Records created by Nellee Hooper, on October 6, 1998.

History

Their lead vocalist, Jennifer Turner, was playing as a guitarist on the Tigerlily tour with Natalie Merchant, when Turner formed Furslide together with Jason Lader and Adam MacDougall in early 1997. Furslide was the first band on Nellee Hooper's new label Meanwhile... when they were signed in 1998. They released their first album, Adventure, in fall 1998 and played a couple of shows subsequently in the US, the UK and across Europe and opened for Lenny Kravitz on October 8, 1998, in Detroit.They were the support act for Kula Shaker, Alanis Morissette and Ben Folds). In 1999, they band dissolved, supposedly because of disappointing record sales.

The music of Furslide is diverse and multifaceted. Turner names Joni Mitchell, Chrissie Hynde and Natalie Merchant as influences.

Their track "Over My Head" was used on the Buffy the Vampire Slayer soundtrack album.

The Orange County Supertones were a Christian ska band from Orange County, California. The band was signed to Tooth & Nail Records and its imprint, BEC Recordings, before becoming an independent band. The band temporarily disbanded in 2005, though reunited in 2010 to resume touring and recording before permanently disbanding in 2017. Adam MacDougall (musician)

Adam MacDougall was born in August 1974 in New York City, New York. MacDougall is the keyboardist who replaced Rob Clores in The Black Crowes in time to record Warpaint in July 2007. Previously, he was a member of The Ben Taylor Band and Furslide, and he has also toured with Macy Gray and Patti Rothberg.

"The Real Thing" is a song by American singer Gwen Stefani from her debut solo studio album Love. Angel. Music. Baby. (2004). It was written by Stefani, Linda Perry and her then-husband Gavin Rossdale, who is credited as "GMR". Nellee Hooper produced the song, with Mark "Spike" Stent serving as an additional producer. A Europop and synth-pop ballad, "The Real Thing" talks about mutual love between two lovers. Interscope Records released the song as a promotional single exclusively in the Philippines a year after the album's release. It was released as a CD single featuring a remix by Wendy and Lisa. The remix was also included on the deluxe edition of L.A.M.B., as well as on the international version of the album.

Chris Robinson Brotherhood American blues rock band

Chris Robinson Brotherhood was an American blues rock band formed in 2011 by Black Crowes singer Chris Robinson while the Crowes were on hiatus. The original lineup consisted of Robinson, Neal Casal, Mark Dutton, George Sluppick (drums), and Adam MacDougall (keyboards). Since 2015, the band had undergone various personnel changes with Robinson and Casal remaining the only constant members. Following the death of Neal Casal in August 2019 the Chris Robinson Brotherhood would disband.
