Gulnar Hayytbaeva is a Turkmenistani judoka. [1] At the 2012 Summer Olympics she competed in the Women's 63 kg, but was defeated in the first round by Ramila Yusubova.

She graduated from The National Institute of Sports and Tourism of Turkmenistan in 2013. [2] At the 2013 Summer Universiade she won a bronze medal in belt wrestling (freestyle 66 kg).

It became the third city in the former Soviet countries to win the right of hosting an Olympic Council of Asia-sanctioned event, following Astana and Almaty in Kazakhstan, which jointly-hosted the 2011 Asian Winter Games. The host city was chosen in Kuwait on 19 December 2010. On 6 July 2013 the flag of the Olympic Council of Asia was officially handed over to the mayor of the city of Ashgabat.

She lost the first preliminary match to China's Tang Lin, who eventually won the gold medal in the finals. She offered another shot for the bronze medal through the repechage bouts, where she was defeated by Mongolia's Rambuugiin Dashdulam in the first round.
