Gabriel Asakura (born November 12,1988) is a Brazilian professional baseball pitcher. He attended West Los Angeles College and Cal State Los Angeles and played with the Palm Springs Power in the Southern California Collegiate Baseball Association [1] and the Peninsula Oilers in the Alaska Baseball League. [2] He represented Brazil at 2013 World Baseball Classic.

Palms is a community in the Westside region of Los Angeles,California,founded in 1886 and the oldest neighborhood annexed to the city,in 1915. Castro was known mainly for his defensive abilities. He was primarily a reserve player. Castro batted and threw right-handed. Following his retirement as a player,Castro joined the Dodgers organization as a coach. During the 2020 and 2021 seasons,Castro was the infield coach for the Phillies.

It used to be named Angels Stadium and was the home field of the Palm Springs Suns of the Western Baseball League in 1995 and 1996. The league was created by Andrew Starke in 2010,and takes place in Palm Springs,California,at the Palm Springs Stadium complex which is a former spring training facility of the Los Angeles Angels.
The Palm Desert Coyotes are an independent professional baseball team that is based in Palm Springs,California as a part of the California Winter League. They play their games in a short-season schedule from January to February at Palm Springs Stadium and at the nearby Palm Springs High School baseball field,along with the Palm Springs Chill,Canada A's and Coachella Valley Snowbirds and several other teams. The Coyotes didn't play in 2012 due to a team suspension of operations. They were replaced by the winter league version of the Palm Springs Power. The Coyotes returned in 2013.

The Power was the Pacific Southwest Baseball League (PSWBL) champions in 2009.
