The area of the district is 838.4 square kilometers (323.7 sq mi). Its administrative center is the urban locality of Naryshkino. Population: 18,666 ; 20,224 (2002 Census); 19,082 (1989 Census). The population of Naryshkino accounts for 51.3% of the district's total population.

Population: 20,219 ; 20,038 (2002 Census); 19,588 (1989 Census). The population of Tonshayevo accounts for 22.6% of the district's total population.
