Galatasaray Marşı ("Galatasaray march") is the official hymn of the Turkish multisport club Galatasaray SK. It was commissioned in 1980 to celebrate the club's 75th anniversary. The words were written by Turkish songwriter Mehmet Faruk Gürtunca and Selmi Andak is the composer. [1] The re re re, ra ra ra, Galatasaray Galatasaray cimbom bom part is a famous fan chant and was sung for the first time by Galatasaray fans at Taksim Stadi in 1922. The first march was written by Ahmet Malik, who was a student at Galatasaray Lisesi at 1912. This was the first club march of Turkey, written in both Arabic and French and published in Egypt. [2]

Taksim Stadium was the first football stadium in Istanbul, Turkey. Originally the 19th century Taksim Artillery Barracks it was transformed into a stadium in 1921 and was located next to today's Taksim Square. The ground was the home of all major football clubs in Istanbul, including Galatasaray, Fenerbahçe and Beşiktaş. The stadium had a seating capacity of around 8,000. It was closed in 1939 and demolished in 1940, during the formation of Taksim Square. The site was converted to a public park, named the Taksim Gezi Parkı.

Ali Sami Yen Stadium was the home of the football club Galatasaray S.K. in Istanbul, Turkey, from 1964 to 2010. It is named after the founder of the club, Ali Sami Yen. The 1999–2000 UEFA Cup season was the 29th edition of the UEFA Cup competition. The final took place at Parken Stadium in Copenhagen and was won by Galatasaray, who defeated Arsenal in the final. The game was scoreless through the first ninety minutes and stayed that way through thirty minutes of extra time. The match went on to penalty kicks in which Gheorghe Popescu scored the winning goal to win the cup. Galatasaray won the cup without losing a single game. The competition had some violence involving Turkish hooligans in the semi-finals and the final, in particular the fatal stabbings of Leeds United fans Kevin Speight and Christopher Loftus by Galatasaray fans in Istanbul.
Mustafa Denizli is a former Turkish football player and current the head coach of Kasımpaşa. He has managed many Turkish notable football clubs, including "Istanbul Big Three" and has won the Süper Lig title three times. He is the only manager in history to win the Süper Lig with three clubs. He also has worked outside Turkey with Alemannia Aachen in Germany, Pas and Persepolis in Iran and Khazar Lankaran in Azerbaijan. He managed the Turkish national team for four years and reached the quarter-finals of Euro 2000. On 23 December 2011, he returned to his former club, Persepolis but resigned at the end of the season. He spent 17 years with his hometown club Altay in İzmir, gaining a reputation as one of the best players in the position of attacking left forward in the league's history.
