OMR is a contemporary art gallery located in Mexico City.
OMR was founded in 1983 by Patricia Ortiz Monasterio and Jaime Riestra. [1] The gallery is located in the Roma district which is now recognized as the leading art scene area in Mexico City. [2] The Observer wrote in August 2019 that OMR is "one of the city’s longest-running and largest blue-chip galleries" and noted that the majority of their buyers are "foreign collectors." [3]
The gallery represents emerging and established contemporary artists, including Mexican artists Pia Camil and José Dávila, Swiss artist Claudia Comte, German artist Candida Höfer and the Danish artist group SUPERFLEX, among others. Since its beginning, OMR has been a major influence on the arts in Mexico, showing avant-garde artists that have now become some of the referential points of the Mexican art scene. [4] Over the past four decades, OMR has presented more than 400 exhibitions and participated in numerous international art fairs, including Frieze Los Angeles, [5] Zona MACO (Mexico) [6] Art Basel (Switzerland) and Art Basel Miami Beach (USA).
In 2022, OMR co-founded the cultural center LagoAlgo. Housed in a historic modernist building in the Chapultepec Park (Mexico City's green lung), LagoAlgo is a free and public cultural destination, which aims to foster encounters between contemporary art, gastronomy and architecture. [7] The exhibition program is under the creative direction of Jérôme Sans.
Julio Galán was a Mexican artist and architect. Galán was one of Latin America's neo-expressionist painters of the end of the last century and the beginning of this one.. His paintings and collages are full of elements that usually represent his life.
Iñaki Bonillas is an artist living and working in Mexico City. His recent work is based on the photographic archive of his grandfather J.R. Plaza and family. In 2007 he participated in a group exhibition at Claremont Museum of Art.

Gustavo Arias Murueta was a Mexican painter, sculptor and poet, a member of the Salón de la Plástica Mexicana best known for his work in drawing, graphic arts and oil painting. He originally studied architecture at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México where he met artists such as Rufino Tamayo, David Alfaro Siqueiros and José Clemente Orozco. In the 1950s, he began to produce artworks, with his first exhibition in 1961. From then until his death he had a career as an artist with individual and collective exhibitions in both Mexico and abroad. While his work had been heavily influenced by Orozco, he was considered part of the Generación de la Ruptura movement.

ZsONAMACO is an international art fair organized since 2003 that takes place annually in Mexico City in February. El País named it the largest art fair in Latin America and, although international, the focus is largely on Latin American art and artists.

ARTBO is an annual international art fair in Bogotá, Colombia that takes place every October. It is Colombia's official international art fair, and is organized by the Bogotá Chamber of commerce. ARTBO is one of the largest art fairs in Latin America, and brings together art galleries, artworks, curators, collectors, artists, and the public as one of the most important cultural events for the country.
