Galway Business School

Galway Business School is a private business school in Galway, Ireland. Opened in 2000, [1] the college initially provided further education business courses, and now provides QQI-validated degree courses. [2] Galway Business School (GBS) was set up by the Galway Cultural Institute (GCI) [1] which provides English language courses. From 2003, GBS provided courses validated by the Business and Technology Education Council (BTEC/EDEXCEL) and the Institute of Commercial Management (ICM).[ citation needed ] GBS also provides ACCA preparatory courses and ECDL programmes.[ citation needed ]

As of 2005, the college was delivering a one-year BA in Business Management degree programme, validated by the University of Wales. [3] [ better source needed ][ failed verification ] In 2006, GBS became a recognised FETAC course provider. In 2014, the GBS business degree programme gained QQI accreditation. [4]

Dundalk Institute of Technology is an institute of technology, located in Dundalk, Ireland. Established as the Dundalk Regional Technical College, students were first enrolled in the college in 1971 and it was later re-defined as an institute of technology in January 1998.

Shannon College of Hotel Management was founded in 1951 as Ireland's first designated College of Hotel Management. Since 2015 it is fully incorporated into the University of Galway. The college was founded by Dr. Brendan O'Regan and is based in Shannon Airport, County Clare. It was set up with input from Aer Rianta. Shannon College offers programmes at Foundation, Certificate, Degree and Masters Level. Shannon College also offers a range of executive education and short programmes. Shannon College has a long-standing relationship with industry, with hotel partners located all over the world. Dorset College is a private college, located in Dublin city centre. Founded in 1983, it provides training in Computing, Business, English Language, University Foundation Programmes and Healthcare. A number of its programmes are accredited by the QQI at level 5 to level 8 on the Irish National Framework, as well as this it has programmes validated by professional bodies such as CIPD, QQI ACELS and PMI.

Portobello Institute is a private third level college delivering further and higher education specialising in Early Years, Sport, Facilities Management, Travel and Tourism and Business of Fashion.
