Gamekings is a Dutch television program centered on videogames and is broadcast on Comedy Central in The Netherlands. [1] Until 2005 it was broadcast on the former Dutch television channel The Box, until 2011 on TMF and until 2014 on MTV. Since then they have moved to SpikeTV and are now working under their own Label Blammo Media, additionally being sponsored by Fans with their 'Gamekings Premium' service.

In the program the presenters give their opinion about new videogames, but you see them living the "gamer life" as well. The program was named the equivalent of 'Top Gear' for games by Nieuwe Revu Magazine. [2]

Ziggo Sport Totaal Dutch television service

Ziggo Sport Totaal is a Dutch premium television service operated by Ziggo and owned by VodafoneZiggo, a joint venture between Liberty Global and Vodafone. Ziggo Sport Totaal launched as Sport1 with its sister service Film1 on 1 February 2006 and replaced the Canal+ Netherlands channels. Film1 was sold to Sony Pictures Television on 21 July 2015, while Sport1 remained Liberty Global-owned. At launch the service consisted of two main channels, six extra channels and one HD simulcast of the first main channel. On 2 February 2009 the number of extra channels was reduced to four. The extra channels only broadcast when necessary to live broadcast multiple sport events at the same time. The service was rebranded to Ziggo Sport Totaal on 12 November 2015.

The Nieuwe Revu is a weekly general interest magazine from the Netherlands, published on Wednesdays and written in Dutch.

The Netherlands now has three major forms of broadcast digital television. Terrestrial (DVB-T), Cable (DVB-C), and Satellite (DVB-S). In addition IPTV services are available. At the end of the first quarter of 2013 almost 84% of the households in the Netherlands had some form of digital television.

Series 6 of Top Gear, a British motoring magazine and factual television programme, was broadcast in the United Kingdom on BBC Two during 2005, consisting of eleven episodes between 22 May and 7 August. This series saw the presenters introducing the "Stig" with comedic lines regarding nonsensical facts about the character, an element that would be used until the end of the twenty-third series, and featured a survey regarding the "Greatest Driving Song of All Time" from the top five songs that were revealed during the latter half of the series. This series' highlight included recreating the programme's theme tune with different car engines, and the presenters having their mothers evaluate three different cars.

Television in Switzerland was introduced in 1950, with regular broadcasts commencing in 1953. People who live in Switzerland are required by law to pay a television licence fee, which is used to finance the public radio and television service SRG SSR. Since 1 January 2021, the Licence fee cost in all the linguistic regions of Switzerland is 355 CHF per year or 83.75 CHF quarterly, counting both radio and television licences. All licence fee payers are entitled under the law to services of equal quality. The fee is charged per household and not per person, with empty dwellings being exempt. The fee is determined by the Federal Council.

Comedy Central (Dutch TV channel) Television channel in the Netherlands

Comedy Central is a Dutch pay television channel based on the American channel of the same name. The channel is available on cable, digital terrestrial, IPTV, and satellite operators in the Netherlands. It broadcasts many imports as well as original programming. There is another Comedy Central-branded channel available in the Netherlands, named Comedy Central Extra.

Sjef van Oekel

Sjef van Oekel was a popular TV comedy character created by Dutch artist Wim T. Schippers and played by Dutch comedian, singer and actor Dolf Brouwers (1912–1997). Van Oekel started as a side character in De Fred Hachéshow in 1972, but became such a cult figure that he gained his own television show, Van Oekel's Discohoek, songs and even a comic strip, all written by Schippers.
