Gamma (stylized as gamma. with a full stop) is an American media company founded in 2023 by former Apple executive Larry Jackson and record executive Ike Youssef. [1] Described as a competitor to major labels, the company acts as an alternative distributor for multimedia content by means of a prior acquisition of the technology platform Vydia. [2] Upon its launch in March of that year, the company's initial artists included Usher, Rick Ross, and Snoop Dogg, and later Sexyy Red and French Montana. [3] [4] [5] Jackson founded the company with US$1 billion in start-up capital with investment from billionaires including Todd Boehly, with "particular and [acute]" focus on Black culture. [6] [7] In addition, the label also distributes older releases for Snoop Dogg and Tha Dogg Pound.

This song was Akon's first #1 single on the Billboard Hot 100 and was also Snoop's second #1 on the same chart. It also reached a peak of #3 on the UK Singles Chart. The track originally had Akon as a featured artist and was performed by rapper Plies from Fort Myers, Florida, but his verse was replaced by Snoop's and his name has been left out from the writers' credits. Konvict Kulture is a record label founded by Melvin Brown and R&B singer Akon in 2004 under the name Konvict Muzik. Artists including T-Pain, Kat DeLuna, Mali Music, Red Café, Dolla, Ya Boy, and Costa Titch have signed to and released singles or albums by the label. Heard at the beginning of many of the label's recordings, besides Akon's own production or songwriting contribution, is the sound of the clank of a jail cell, followed by Akon uttering "Konvict". In 2022, the label was rebranded into Konvict Kulture. By 2011, Fotemah Mba was appointed Vice President of A&R for the label.
