Gang Starr Foundation is a collective of east coast rappers led by the hip hop group Gang Starr. [1] It was co-founded by Boston legend Big Shug. It was established in 1993.

Keith Edward Elam, better known by his stage name Guru, was an American rapper, record producer and actor. He was a member of the hip hop duo Gang Starr, along with DJ Premier. He was born in Boston, Massachusetts.

The mixtape was recorded in 1997 and released by Tape Kingz on cassette tape. The name of the album is a reference to a well-known kung-fu movie Five Deadly Venoms.
