Gariwala (English title: The Cart) is a 2014 Bangladeshi film written and directed by Ashraf Shishir, and starring Rokeya Prachy, Raisul Islam Asad, Masum Aziz, Imran Imu, and child artists Maruf and Kabbo. [3]

Contents

Funded by a Bangladesh government grant, Gariwala began as a short film before being expanded to feature length. [4] It premiered at the Sharjah International Film Festival for Children & Youth in the United Arab Emirates on 23 October 2014. [1] It toured extensively on the festival circuit, where its runtime was commonly described as 76 minutes. [5] [6] It opened in Bangladesh on 24 September 2015. [2] [7] It won the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Short Film in 2014. [8]

Gariwala premiered at the Sharjah International Film Festival for Children & Youth in the United Arab Emirates on 23 October 2014. [1] It was shown at numerous other international film festivals including the Kolkata International Film Festival, [1] Moondance International Film Festival, [10] and Red Rock Film Festival. No Bed of Roses is a 2017 Bangladeshi-Indian drama film written and directed by Mostofa Sarwar Farooki. It was produced by Abdul Aziz, Himanshu Dhanuka and Irrfan Khan under the banner of Jaaz Multimedia and Eskay Movies along with Irrfan Khan Films. It stars Irrfan Khan, Nusrat Imrose Tisha, Rokeya Prachy and Parno Mittra. The story builds up around the members of two families discovering the finer fabric of love when the headman of a family dies. The theme is that death does not always take things away: Sometimes it gives back. The film was selected as the Bangladeshi entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 91st Academy Awards, but it was not nominated.

Muhammad Masum Aziz was a Bangladeshi stage, film and television actor. He played in more than four hundred dramas and films since 1985. He won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in the film Ghani (2011) and in 2022, he was awarded the Ekushey Padak for his contribution to acting by the government of Bangladesh.
