Garth Leslie MacGuigan (born February 16, 1956) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey centre. He was selected by the NHL's New York Islanders 50th overall in the third round of the 1976 NHL Amateur Draft. In the same year he was drafted 56th overall in the fifth round by the Quebec Nordiques in the WHA Amateur Draft. He went on to play in only five games for the New York Islanders.
MacGuigan was born in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island.

Robert DiMaio is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player. He played in 894 National Hockey League (NHL) games with the New York Islanders, Tampa Bay Lightning, Philadelphia Flyers, Boston Bruins, New York Rangers, Carolina Hurricanes, and Dallas Stars. He is currently the Director of Player Personnel with the St. Louis Blues. He won the Stanley Cup with the Blues in 2019.

The 1973 NHL Amateur Draft was the 11th National Hockey League draft. It was the first to be held on a separate day from other league activities on May 15, 1973, at the Mount Royal Hotel in Montreal, Quebec, so it would not overshadow the rest of the league meetings. Previously, the league had held the amateur draft in mid-June. It also marks the second time the meeting took place at the Mount Royal Hotel rather than the Queen Elizabeth Hotel. In 1972, when the World Hockey Association was beginning to take form, some teams were more focused on the amateur draft that they stopped paying attention to other issues and were spending their time preparing for the draft.
The Sutter family, originally from Viking, Alberta, Canada, are one of the most famous families in the National Hockey League (NHL). Six brothers: Brent, Brian, Darryl, Duane, Rich and Ron, reached the NHL in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Four brothers, Brian, Duane, Darryl and Brent, have gone on to become coaches and general managers as well, with Brian, Darryl, and Brent each having a stint as head coach of the Calgary Flames. All brothers played either for the Chicago Blackhawks or the St. Louis Blues at one point or another. A seventh brother named Gary is said by his brothers to have been the best hockey player of all seven boys. Rather than making his living as a hockey player, Gary stayed home to work on the family farm, as Rich remarked on an episode of the Canadian sports show Off the Record.
Dwight Alexander Foster is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player. He was drafted into the National Hockey League (NHL) in the first round, 16th overall in 1977 by the Boston Bruins. Besides Boston, he played for the Colorado Rockies, New Jersey Devils and Detroit Red Wings, before retiring in 1987 because of knee injuries.

Alex McKendry is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player who played 46 games in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the New York Islanders and Calgary Flames as part of a seven-year career that was spent primarily in the Central Hockey League. He was a first round selection of the Islanders, taken 14th overall in the 1976 NHL Amateur Draft. He appeared in six playoff games in the Islanders' Stanley Cup championship season of 1979–80. McKendry's most significant time in the NHL came in 1980–81 when he appeared in 36 games for the Flames.
Donald Edward Cutts is a former professional ice hockey goaltender. Cutts was selected in the seventh round of the 1973 NHL Amateur Draft, 97th overall, by the New York Islanders and in the fourth round of the 1973 WHA Amateur Draft, 48th overall, by the Houston Aeros.
