Gary Freeman is an American commercial artist, who is involved in the publishing, advertising and video game industries. He has received multiple awards for his work in illustration and advertising. He has also been a lead concept designer for several notable video game franchises. Freeman currently lives with his wife in upstate New Hampshire.
Gary Freeman's illustrations are primarily influenced by science fiction and fantasy. Over 100 of his images have been published in notable science fiction magazines, including Amazing Stories , Analog , Fantastic Stories , Heavy Metal , and Isaac Asimov's Science Fiction Magazine . Of his published works, 36 have been used as magazine covers. [1] Freeman's work has also been used as the covers for 21 science fiction novels [2] published by Ace, Baen, and Roc. These include the 1991 collection of Asimov stories entitled Robots . [2]
Freeman was a concept designer for Westwood and Electronic Arts. He created concept and in-game art for the 1997 video game Blade Runner and worked on franchises such as Command & Conquer , Dune , Empire Earth , and Transformers . [3] [4]
Freeman has received several awards for his work, including three ADDYs, a Bronze medal and a "Judge's Choice" award from the 2004 AIGA Awards, and three Readers' Choice Awards[ citation needed ].
He has also received a total of 18 nominations from Isaac Asimov's Science Fiction Magazine for Best Cover Artist and Best Interior Artist. [5] Freeman was nominated for the 1989 Chesley Award for Best Magazine Cover Illustration. [6]
His illustrations were selected for inclusion in the 35th annual exhibit of the Society of Illustrators of Los Angeles, SPECTRUM 7, SPECTRUM 11, SPECTRUM 12, Expose 3[ citation needed ], and Infected by Art Volumes 1-6, [7] where he received the Silver award for Volume 1's Sci-Fi category.[ citation needed ]

Frank Kelly Freas was an American science fiction and fantasy artist with a career spanning more than 50 years. He was known as the "Dean of Science Fiction Artists" and he was the second artist inducted by the Science Fiction Hall of Fame.
David Cherry is an American artist, author, and illustrator of science fiction and fantasy and has also done substantial work as a marketing artist, concept artist, and 3D modeler in the game production industry. Cherry served as Lecturer and Head of the Art Department as well as Head of the master's degree Program for artists at The Guildhall at SMU, a graduate college dedicated to studies for people who want to work in the game production industry. Cherry was also an attorney, as well as a past president of the Association of Science Fiction and Fantasy Artists (1988–1990). He has been nominated eleven times for Hugo Awards, and 18 times for Chesley Awards.
Michael Whelan is an American artist of imaginative realism. For more than 30 years, he worked as an illustrator, specializing in science fiction and fantasy cover art. Since the mid-1990s, he has pursued a fine art career, selling non-commissioned paintings through galleries in the United States and through his website.

Morrill, also credited as Rowena and Rowina Morril, was an American artist known for her science-fiction and fantasy illustration, and is credited as one of the first female artists to impact paperback cover illustration. The Chesley Awards are the "pinnacle award" for art in the science fiction and fantasy genre. Established in 1985 by the Association of Science Fiction and Fantasy Artists, the awards recognize individual artistic works and achievements during a given year. The Chesleys were initially called the ASFA Awards, but were later renamed to honor famed astronomical artist Chesley Bonestell following his death in 1986. The awards are presented annually, typically at the World Science Fiction Convention (Worldcon).

She was nominated for the World Fantasy Award for Best Artist in 2012 and received the Hugo Award for Best Professional Artist in 2014, 2015, and 2017. She also received two Chesley Awards in 2015 for the Best Cover Illustrations for a magazine and a hardback book. Dillon lives and works in California.
Thomas Fleming is an artist who has worked on comic books, the fantasy/science fiction genre, and gaming. Fleming has been recognized with multiple awards throughout his career including four nominations for the Chesley Award. In 2012, a federal court awarded him damages due by HomeGoods, which sold unauthorized reproductions of two of his paintings.
