Gatundu was an electoral constituency in Kiambu District. Created for the 1966 general elections, it is one of the original constituencies of Kiambu District. The constituency was abolished before the 1997 Kenyan general election, and split into Gatundu North and Gatundu South constituencies.

Kenya's first president Jomo Kenyatta was the first Member of Parliament from 1963 to his death in 1978.

Thika is an industrial town and commerce hub in Kiambu County, Kenya, lying on the A2 road 42 kilometres (26 mi), northeast of Nairobi, near the confluence of the Thika and Chania Rivers. Although Thika town is administratively in Kiambu County, the greater Thika area comprising residential areas such as Bendor estate, Maporomoko, Thika Greens, Thika Golden Pearl, Bahati Ridge, and Thika Sports Club, among others, are within Murang'a County. Gatundu is a small town in Kiambu County of Kenya. It is known for the first Kenyan president Jomo Kenyatta who lived about three kilometres away from the town, as well as his son, Uhuru Kenyatta, now the 4th President of Kenya and former Member of Parliament representing Gatundu South Constituency. The town is located on a hill surrounded by many farms and residences.

Gatundu South is an electoral constituency in Kiambu County, Kenya and the seat of the District Officer in Gatundu Town. It is one of twelve constituencies in Kiambu County. The constituency has four wards, Kiamwangi, Kiganjo, Ndarugo, and Ng'enda, all of them are within the Kiambu County Council. The constituency was established before the 1997 General Elections. Previously it was part of the larger Gatundu Constituency which was split into Gatundu South Constituency and Gatundu North Constituency it is ranked 182 out of 210 Constituencies in Kenya in size and 165 out of 210 in population size.

Kikuyu Constituency is an electoral constituency in Kenya. It is one of twelve constituencies in Kiambu County. The constituency was established for the 1963 elections. From the 1988 elections to the 2002 elections it was known as Kabete Constituency. With the new demarcation of constituencies by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), the constituency was split into two and now we have Kikuyu Constituency and Kabete Constituency. The Current Member of Parliament for Kikuyu Constituency is Kimani Ichung'wah who was elected on The National Alliance Party (TNA) ticket. Mararo is a village settlement located in Kenya's former Central Province. The village is located in Githunguchu sub-Location, N'genda Location, Gatundu District, Gatundu South Constituency, Kiambu County. The village lies about 5 kilometres to the east of Gatundu Township.

The name mararo, meaning a sleep over place, was derived from workers who used to come to work in a coffee farm established by one, Kiruthu Kimiti. Mr Kimiti used to be a senior employee in a white settler's farm about 10 kilometres further east towards Juja town. Whenever he brought workers from the settlers farm to work on his farm, they would not go back same day but stay over for sometime as he had put up a labour camp. That's how they named the village "the place of sleepover".

Mbogoro is a settlement in Kenya's Central Province. Mbogoro constitutes Kiambu County, Gatundu Subcounty. The town is in Gatundu South Constituency and is on the furthest end Constituency where it borders Gatundu North. Kahungu River acts as the border between Gatundu North & South constituencies. Its inhabitants are mostly of the AGIKUYU community.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Sub-Counties of Kenya</span>

Sub-counties, also known as Districts, are the decentralised units through which government of Kenya provides functions and services. At national level, sub-counties take a more administrative function like security, statistical purposes, provision of government services, etc. Even though the sub-counties are divisions of counties, powers to create new national sub-counties lies with the national government. As of 2023, there are 314 sub-counties, compared to 290 constituencies. A deputy county commissioner is appointed by the state to lead each sub-county. The sub-counties are further divided into divisions, locations and sub-locations.

Local elections were held in Kiambu County to elect a Governor and County Assembly on 4 March 2013. Under the new constitution, which was passed in a 2010 referendum, the 2013 general elections were the first in which Governors and members of the County Assemblies for the newly created counties were elected.

Roysambu Constituency is an electoral constituency in Nairobi. It is one of seventeen constituencies in Nairobi City County. It was created prior to the 2013 general election, when Kasarani Constituency was divided into three constituencies: Kasarani, Roysambu and Ruaraka.

Mwiki is a low-income neighbourhood in the counties of Nairobi and Kiambu. It is approximately 14 kilometres (8.7 mi) northeast of the central business district of Nairobi. Due to its transregional nature, the part of Mwiki that is within Nairobi is referred as Kasarani Mwiki while the other portion domiciled in Kiambu is referred as Githurai Mwiki.
