Geir Hoff (born 14 February 1965 in Bergen, Norway) is a Norwegian former professional ice hockey player.
Hoff began his career in Sweden with Västra Frölunda before spending two seasons at Michigan State University. Hoff then played in the Norwegian Elitserien for Vålerenga Ishockey, Furuset Ishockey, Lillehammer IK and the Spektrum Flyers between 1987 and 1995 before returning to Vålerenga for a second spell, eventually retiring in 1999.
He was also a member of the Norwegian national ice hockey team, and participated at the Winter Olympics in 1988, 1992, and 1994. [1] He was Norwegian champion in 1988, 1990, 1994, 1998, and 1999, and was awarded Gullpucken as best Norwegian ice hockey player in 1991. [2]
Vålerenga Ishockey is a Norwegian ice hockey team based in Oslo, Norway. Vålerenga has been the dominant force in Norwegian hockey since the 1960s, claiming 26 national championships and 29 regular season titles. Their old home arena, located in central-eastern Oslo, was Jordal Amfi, built for the 1952 Winter Olympics. In 2020, Vålerenga moved in to their new arena at Jordal.
Serge Payer is a Canadian professional ice hockey player. Payer retired at the end of the 2011 season where he played with Vålerenga Ishockey of the GET-ligaen. Payer played 119 career NHL games with the Florida Panthers and Ottawa Senators, scoring 7 goals and 6 assists for 13 points.

Eliteserien, known as Fjordkraftligaen due to sponsorship, is the premier Norwegian ice hockey league, organised by the Norwegian Ice Hockey Association. It comprises 10 clubs and works on the premise of promotion and relegation, in which the two teams who placed last must play the top two teams from First Division for the rights to play in the next Eliteserie season.
The Trondheim Black Panthers, founded 18 June 1986 as Trondheim Ishockeyklubb, is a defunct ice hockey club which was based in Trondheim, Norway. They played their home games in Leangen Ishall and were members of the highest ice hockey league in Norway from 1987 until 2008. During this time, they won the League Championship twice, in 1988–89 and 1991–92, and were twice runners-up in the Norwegian Ice Hockey Championship, in 1989 and 2005. The club folded on 3 March 2008 due to severe financial problems. The existing club Rosenborg then emerged as Trondheim's number one team. Rosenborg will play in Division One throughout the 2008–09 campaign. Several of the Trondheim players signed with Rosenborg.

Spektrum Flyers was a short-lived ice hockey team from Oslo, Norway. A merger between Manglerud Star and Furuset, it played the 1994–95 and 1995–96 seasons in Eliteserien, the premier ice hockey league in Norway, with home games at Oslo Spektrum. The team relocated to Bergen after two seasons.
