Founded after the Fall of the Systems Commonwealth, as a splinter group from the men and women of the Templars, founded by former High Guard Admiral Constanza Stark, their declared aim is to rid the Universe of all genetically engineered human beings. Unlike the Templars they do not just target the war-like Nietzscheans, the destroyers of the original Commonwealth, but also genetically enhanced heavy-gravity worlders like Dylan Hunt, bio-enhanced humans like the Inari, or simple genetic manipulations like Beka Valentine (who has had her strength, stamina and reflexes enhanced and gained the ability to morph her hair color at will by her father, although the last was due to nanobots rather than genetic manipulation).
The Genites were in hiding during the Long Night until Hunt's first year after his awakening, but are drawn out by the news of the existence of a reincarnation of Nietzschean Progenitor Drago Museveni: Tamerlane Anasazi, the son of Andromeda's Nietzschean crewman, Tyr Anasazi. They consider him a threat because he was prophesied to be the one who would reunite the Nietzschean Prides and lead them to conquest of all the sentient species of the galaxies. Their usual tactic is to obliterate small Nietzschean Prides that cannot adequately defend themselves against the awesome power of Genite military might. Beka Valentine characterized them as "intergalactic bullies".
Technology
Genite weapons technology is very advanced, having inherited Commonwealth technical know-how. They developed reactive armor from the Commonwealth's early research during the Fall, they have excellent stealth technology (their Seraphim carriers are not detected originally by Andromeda's sensors) and they have developed bioweapons for use against genetically engineered humans.
The only ship shown onscreen in the series belonging to the Genites is the Seraphim Carrier, which along with usual weapons such as PDLs (Point Defense Lasers) and missiles, has fighter/boarding craft called Seraphim which punch through the hulls of ships. It is not specified if these are manned. As ground tactics, the Genites will assault in groups of two knights, equipped with heavy Gauss guns and reactive armor. They are all but impervious to regular small arms fire, but it seems that a force lance will do more damage, and eventually kill or disable a Genite.

Andromeda is a Canadian/American science fiction television series, based on unused material by Gene Roddenberry, developed by Robert Hewitt Wolfe, and produced by Roddenberry's widow, Majel Barrett. It starred Kevin Sorbo as High Guard Captain Dylan Hunt. The series premiered on October 2, 2000, and ended on May 13, 2005.
Illinois (BB-65) was an uncompleted battleship originally intended to be the first ship of the Montana class. However, the urgent need for more warships at the outbreak of World War II and the U.S. Navy's experiences in the Pacific theater led it to conclude that rather than battleships larger and more heavily armed than the Iowa class, it quickly needed more fast battleships of that class to escort the new Essex-class aircraft carriers being built. As a result, hulls BB-65 and BB-66 were reordered and laid down as Iowa-class battleships in 1942. As such, she was intended to be the fifth member of the Iowa-class constructed, and the fourth navy ship to be named in honor of the 21st US state.

The All Systems Commonwealth or simply the Systems Commonwealth is a fictional intergalactic government from Gene Roddenberry's science fiction TV series Andromeda. It was born out of the Vedran Empire. The Vedrans, originating from Tarn-Vedra, which was their homeworld and the capital of their empire, and they were the first known race to discover the Slipstream, the only known way to travel faster-than-light. They built their empire by traveling to the different star systems and conquering the inhabited and colonizing the uninhabited worlds. The Commonwealth was a democratic federation of planets, drifts, and systems. The Commonwealth struggled with growth, as it expanded, its problems compounded, especially as it spread across the Three Galaxies or Six Galaxies. It lasted for about 5500 years, starting with a time of political reform and ending with a violent civil war started by the Nietzscheans and subsequent invasion by the terrifying Magog.

It was announced at the E3 Expo in May 2002, shortly after the TV series was canceled. Jessica Alba and Michael Weatherly reprised their roles from the series, voicing Max Guevara and Logan Cale respectively.
The Spirit of the Abyss is the leader and god of the Magog in the TV series Andromeda. The Abyss is also referred to as "the Darkness" many times in the series. The Spirit of the Abyss first appeared in the episode Harper 2.0, where it used a minion to try to get highly valuable information from Harper's mind.
The Children of the Vault are a group of fictional superhuman beings appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The characters all have Spanish codenames. They are a team of supervillains opposed to the X-Men. Their motives to attack both humans and mutants were not exactly clear to begin with, though it was known they held a grudge against Sabretooth. Their motive is that they believe themselves to be the rightful species to inherit the planet, but must first wipe out everyone else.
Appleseed is a Japanese cyberpunk-style OVA adaptation of the manga of the same name created by Masamune Shirow. The anime takes place in a non-determined future. The anime, produced by Gainax and animated by Artland, departs greatly from the manga's storyline, sharing only the characters and setting.
Splicers is a role-playing game using the Palladium Books Megaversal gaming system. The game is set in the midst of a war between humans and a world-wide computer intelligence alternately referred to as the N.E.X.U.S. or the Machine. Players take on the roles of humans engaged in the fight against robotic, android, and necrotic minions of the Machine, using technology that is primarily derived from highly advanced biotechnology. The computer intelligence has released a "nanobot plague" on the world; within a few seconds of a human touching non-precious metal, the item will begin to twist and attack the person, sometimes even animating into a robotic minion of the Machine. The result is that the nanoplague has effectively made non-precious metal allergic to mammalian life.
