Gentle Offoin (born 19 August 1973) is a Nigerian former swimmer, who specialized in sprint freestyle events. [1] He held a Nigerian record in the 100 m freestyle, and later represented Nigeria at the 2000 Summer Olympics.

Offoin competed only in the men's 100 m freestyle at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney. He received a Universality place from FINA, in an entry time of 53.08. [2] He challenged seven other swimmers in heat three, including Trinidad and Tobago's 16-year-old George Bovell and Seychelles' three-time Olympian Kenny Roberts. He cleared a 53-second barrier, and established a Nigerian record of 52.91 to race for a sixth seed, finishing behind Bovell by a hundredth of a second (0.01). Offoin failed to advance into the semifinals, as he placed sixtieth overall in the prelims. [3] [4]

Alexandros Aresti is a Cypriot former swimmer, who specialized in freestyle events. He is a two-time Olympian, and a Cypriot record holder in the 100 and 200 m freestyle.

Damian Arthur Christopher Alleyne is a Barbadian former swimmer who specialized in freestyle events. He is a two-time Olympian, a varsity swimmer for the Georgia Bulldogs, and a graduate of Bolles School and the University of Georgia, with a major in business administration.

He is a two-time Olympian, and a former Kyrgyzstan record holder in the 50 and 100 m freestyle. While playing for the Russian senior team, Ashihmin also earned a silver medal, along with Denis Pimankov, Dmitry Chernyshov, and double Olympic champion Alexander Popov, in the 4×100 m freestyle relay at the 1999 European Aquatics Championships in Istanbul, Turkey.

Theophilus "Theo" Verster is a South African former swimmer, who specialised in butterfly and in individual medley events. He won three medals at the 1999 All-Africa Games, and later represented South Africa at the 2000 Summer Olympics. He also held an African record of 55.04 from the 2002 Telkom International Sprint Challenge that defeated Terence Parkin for a top finish and sliced off Brendon Dedekind's standard by 0.37 of a second. During his sporting career, Verster trained full-time under his personal coach Alisdair Hatfield.

Dennis Otzen Jensen is a Danish former swimmer, who specialized in sprint freestyle and butterfly events. He is a 2000 Olympian, and a member of Triton Swimming Club in Skovlunde under his personal coach John Ludvigsen.

Ríkarður Ríkarðsson is an Icelandic former swimmer, who specialized in sprint freestyle and butterfly events. Rikardsson competed only in two individual events at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney. He achieved FINA B-standards of 56.22 from the U.S. National Championships in Federal Way, Washington, and 52.42 from the European Championships in Helsinki, Finland. In the 100 m freestyle, Rikardsson placed fifty-eighth on the morning prelims. Swimming in heat three, he picked up a fourth seed by 0.63 of a second behind winner Paul Kutscher of Uruguay in 52.85. Two days later, in the 100 m butterfly, Rikardsson challenged seven other swimmers in heat two, including Guam's 28-year-old Daniel O'Keeffe and Bosnia's three-time Olympian Janko Gojković. He blasted a new Icelandic record of 56.11 to take a sixth spot and forty-eighth overall, finishing behind winner Gojkovic by almost two-thirds of a second (0.66).

Tamer Hamed Ali Zinhom Muhammad is an Egyptian former swimmer, who specialized in sprint freestyle and butterfly events. He is a two-time Olympian, and an Egyptian record holder in the 50 m freestyle.

Howard Xavier Hinds is a Curaçao former swimmer, who specialized in sprint freestyle and butterfly events. He is a two-time Olympian, and a member of the Fort Lauderdale Swim Team, under head coach Jack Nelson.

Rodrigo Olivares Aramburu is a retired Chilean swimmer, who specialized in sprint freestyle events. Olivares competed only in a sprint freestyle at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney. He achieved FINA B-standards of 23.32 and 52.31 from the Pan American Games in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. In the 100 m freestyle, Olivares placed sixty-two on the morning prelims. Swimming in heat five, he rounded out the field to last place by almost a full second behind Zimbabwe's Glen Walshaw in 53.50. Two days later, in the 50 m freestyle, Olivares participated in heat five against seven other swimmers, including three-time Olympians Richard Sam Bera of Indonesia and Allan Murray of the Bahamas, top 16 finalist in Atlanta four years earlier. Failing to improve his standard, he settled only for seventh place and fifty-fifth overall in 54.50, a 1.38-second deficit behind winner Ravil Nachaev of Uzbekistan.

Kenny Roberts is a Seychellois former swimmer, who specialized in sprint freestyle, but also competed in breaststroke and in individual medley. He represented the Seychelles in all three editions of the Olympic Games, since the nation made its comeback in 1992. While studying in the United States, he played for the Bolles School's Sharks Club, under head coach Gregg Troy, and later for the Clemson University's swimming and diving team, also known as the Clemson Tigers. Currently, Roberts is appointed as the chairman of the Seychelles Swimming Association (SSA).

Alejandro Castellanos is a Honduran former swimmer who specialized in sprint freestyle events. Castellanos represented Honduras at the 2000 Summer Olympics, where he became the nation's flag bearer in the opening ceremony.

Christophe Lim Wen Ying is a Mauritian former swimmer, who specialized in sprint freestyle events. Lim competed for Mauritius in the men's 100 m freestyle at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney. He received a Universality place from FINA, in an entry time of 54.14. He challenged six other swimmers in heat two, including 15-year-olds Ragi Edde of Lebanon and Dawood Youssef of Bahrain. He raced to a third-place finish in 54.33, just 0.19 seconds below his entry standard and 0.78 behind leader Gregory Arkhurst of Côte d'Ivoire. Lim failed to advance into the semifinals, as he placed sixty-sixth overall in the prelims. He also has 3 children, 1 who is a very fast swimmer and dominates Western Australian Swimming.

Carlos Santander is a Venezuelan former swimmer, who specialized in sprint and middle-distance freestyle events. He represented Venezuela in two editions of the Olympic Games, and also swam for the Fort Lauderdale Swim Team in Florida, while residing in the United States. During his college career, Santander trained for the NC State Wolfpack swimming and diving team, under head coach Beth Harrell, at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Henrik Steen Andersen is a Danish former swimmer, who specialized in sprint and middle-distance freestyle events. He represented Denmark at the 2000 Summer Olympics, and also trained for the swim team at Taastrup Sport Club.
