Boyce was born in Perth, Western Australia, son of Craig Boyce who was a member of the Australian national hockey team (the Kookaburras). One of his brothers is Michael Boyce who also represented the Kookaburras. [1] Another brother is Steven Boyce, who was a member of the Australian Development squad in 2005. His sister Fiona was a member of the SmokeFree WA Diamonds squad and represented Australia. An uncle Grant Boyce has represented Kookaburras, including 1984 Olympic Games. His aunt, Adele Boyce was a member of the Hockeyroos.
At school level Boyce represented Scotch College in the Public Schools Association Ray House Hockey Cup competition. He was selected to represent the PSA Combined XI against the Hotspurs in 1999. He was a member of the Ray House Hockey Cup winning teams 1997–1999.
Boyce represented The University of Western Australia at the 2004 Australian University Games winning a gold medal, and was selected in the Green and Gold Hockey team.
At club level Geoff plays for The University of Western Australia Hockey Club (UWAHC), where he was selected at Fullback in the Legends Team at the club's 80th anniversary in 2004. He has represented the Club more than 150 times at 1st Grade level, and played in Premiership teams in 2002, 2004 & 2005. Geoff "Jiffy" Boyce is the game's record player for the first division for UWAHC in June 2014, and currently still playing.
Boyce has represented Western Australia at underage and open level, having played for the SmokeFree WA Thundersticks between 2001 and 2007, including a National title in 2002.
Boyce has represented Australia at senior and junior (under 21) level. He has represented his country three times at senior level, and many times at junior level, including the 2001 Junior Hockey World Cup. Along with his brother Michael, Geoff was named in the original squad for the 2004 Summer Olympics, [1] but was not selected in the final squad. [2]
Richard Ian CharlesworthAO is an Australian sports coach and former politician. He played first-class cricket for Western Australia and international field hockey for the Kookaburras, winning a silver medal at the 1976 Summer Olympics. Charlesworth served as a federal member of parliament from 1983 to 1993, representing the Labor Party. After leaving politics, he was appointed coach of the Hockeyroos, leading them to Olympic gold medals in 1996 and 2000. Charlesworth later coached the Kookaburras from 2009 to 2014, and has also worked in consulting roles with the New Zealand national cricket team, the Australian Institute of Sport, and the Fremantle Football Club.
Jason Paul Duff is a former field hockey defender from Australia, who was a member of the team that won the bronze medal at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney.

It was formed in 1924 to cater for students at The University of Western Australia who wanted to play field hockey.

Graeme Begbie is an Australian field hockey player. He plays club hockey for YMCC Coastal City Hockey Club. In state competitions, he plays for the WA Thundersticks in the Australian Hockey League. In 2010 he was part of the Kookaburras World Cup winning team in Delhi, India and in the same year was named joint Kookaburra of the Year alongside Jamie Dwyer. In December 2011, he was named as one of twenty-eight players to be on the Kookaburras 2012 Olympics squad. This squad will be narrowed in June 2012 to determine who will compete at the 2012 Summer Olympics.

He has played over 350 matches for Australia and scored over 220 goals. He has represented Australia at the 2004 Summer Olympics where he won a gold medal and the 2008 Summer Olympics and 2012 Summer Olympics where Australia won bronze medals. He has also represented Australia at the 2006 Commonwealth Games where he won a gold medal and the 2010 Commonwealth Games where he also won gold. He has won silver medals at the 2002 Men's Hockey World Cup and the 2006 Men's Hockey World Cup. He won a gold medal at the 2010 Men's Hockey World Cup. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest players to ever play the game.
