The Centre Party, previously the Country Party, was a minor Australian political party in the state of Tasmania. Initially formed in 1962 as a new Tasmanian branch of the Country Party of Australia after decades of inactivity in the state, it at first enjoyed no electoral success. In the run up to the 1969 election the party was joined by Kevin Lyons, a former Liberal turned independent member of the Assembly for Braddon, who renamed it the Centre Party and retained his seat at the election, securing the balance of power and serving as Deputy Premier in a coalition government until 1972. Upon the coalition's collapse the Centre Party faded away before being dissolved in 1975.

He succeeded Will Hodgman as leader of the Liberal Party and Tasmanian Premier on 20 January 2020.

He defeated the Duke in 1992 and held his seat until 1998, when the reduction in the size of the House meant he again lost his seat.

He served as an assistant minister in the Morrison government from 2019 until May 2022, following the appointment of the Albanese ministry. Prior to entering parliament Duniam was a political staffer, including as deputy chief of staff to Tasmanian premier Will Hodgman.
Dean Geoffrey Young is an Australian politician. He was a Liberal Party of Australia member of the Tasmanian House of Assembly, representing the electorate of Franklin from 2022 when he was elected in a countback of votes to replace Jacquie Petrusma until his defeat at the 2024 state election. He was the Government Whip and Parliamentary Secretary for Small Business and Industry in the Rockliff Government.
