George's Cove, Labrador, is located on the north shore of Granby Island. The first postmaster was Berton Henry Penney. The 1945 census reported 23 residents in George's Cove. [1]

A source of gold, copper, and zinc ores, Tilt Cove was the site of the first mine in Newfoundland. The Tilt Cove mine opened in 1864 and "was soon employing several hundred men at good wages". Postal service was established in 1869.
Dover is a small incorporated fishing and lumbering village located in a small cove at the head of Freshwater Bay, Bonavista Bay, Newfoundland, Canada. Settled in the early 1890s it was originally known as Shoal Bay, presumably from its many shallow coves and inlets in the area. From the 1950s to the 1970 Shoal Bay was referred to as Wellington , whereas the local residents called it Dover.
Pouch Cove is a town in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. The population is 2,069 according to the Canada 2016 Census. It is located on the northeast Avalon Peninsula, 27 kilometers north of St. John's, the province's capital city. The origin of Pouch Cove dates back to 1611, when fisherman from British ships, together with carpenters and other artisans, established a settlement. The town was officially incorporated in 1970. The post office was established in 1975. The Town has a Council consisting of a Mayor, Deputy Mayor, and five councillors. The town's motto is "first to see the sun," referring to the sunrise in North America.

The town consists of six communities, St. Jacques, English Harbour West, Mose Ambrose, Boxey, Coomb's Cove, and Wreck Cove, all nestled within the inlets along the coast. They all had their beginnings in the fisheries and the fisheries have always been the mainstay of employment in the communities. In recent years aquaculture was introduced in the area, providing employment for its residents.
