Jules George Brennan (born 25 February 1911) was a Belgian-born English boxer who competed for England. [1] [2]
Brennan won a gold medal in the light heavyweight division at the 1934 British Empire Games in London.
He defeated George Holton of Scotland in the final by knockout, after an eventful semi final bout against Robey Leibbrandt. Leibbrandt floored Brennan with a low blow during the fight and as Brennan rose he received a blow to the jaw. The referee consulted the judges and Leibbrandt was disqualified.
He won the Amateur Boxing Association 1933 and 1934 light heavyweight title, when boxing out of the Nottingham Police ABC. [3] Following the success he turned professional and continued to fight up until 1946. [2]
Brennan lived in Derbyshire and was a member of the Nottingham Police force.
Carl Martin Froch, is a British former professional boxer who competed from 2002 to 2014, and has since worked as a boxing analyst and commentator. He held multiple super-middleweight world championships, including the World Boxing Council (WBC) title twice between 2008 and 2011, the International Boxing Federation (IBF) title from 2012 to 2015, and the World Boxing Association (WBA) title between 2013 and 2015. At regional level, he held the British and Commonwealth super-middleweight titles between 2004 and 2008, and won the Lonsdale Belt in 2006. As an amateur, in the middleweight division, Froch won a bronze medal at the 2001 World Championships, and the ABA title twice.
Joseph Erskine was a heavyweight boxer from the Butetown district of Cardiff, Wales. He was an Amateur Boxing Association Champion, Inter-Services Champion, and British Army Champion in 1953. He began fighting as a professional in 1954 and was trained by Freddie Elvin. He held the British heavyweight title from August 1956 to June 1958. In all, he won 45 of his 54 professional bouts, losing 8, with one drawn. His best wins were against George Chuvalo, Henry Cooper, Dick Richardson, Uli Ritter, Jack Bodell, Johnny Williams, Joe Bygraves, and Willie Pastrano.
Samuel Berger was an American heavyweight boxer who won the first Olympic Gold Medal in heavyweight boxing in 1904, competed as a professional, and acted as a promoter and manager for heavyweight Jim Jeffries in the first two decades of the 20th century.

Tony David Jeffries is a British former professional boxer who competed from 2009 to 2011. As an amateur, he won the light-heavyweight bronze medal at the 2008 Olympics. In 2012, an undefeated Jeffries was forced to retire due to hand injuries.
