George C. Hadjipanayis is a Greek physicist.
Hadjipanayis completed his Bachelor of Science degree in physics at the University of Athens in 1969. He then moved to Canada to pursue further study in the subject, and obtained a Master of Science in 1974, followed by a doctorate in 1979, both from the University of Manitoba. [1] Hadjipanayis teaches at the University of Delaware. [2] In 2001, he was elected a fellow of the American Physical Society, "f[or]" his innovative and applicable investigations and development of novel permanent magnets and magnetic nanoparticles. [3]
Magnetic therapy is a pseudoscientific alternative medicine practice involving the weak static magnetic field produced by a permanent magnet. It is similar to the alternative medicine practice of electromagnetic therapy, which uses a magnetic field generated by an electrically powered device.

Jagadeesh Subbaiah Moodera is an American physicist of Indian origin and is senior research scientist at MIT's Francis Bitter Magnet Laboratory. In 1994 together with the MIT research team led by P.M. Tedrow and R. Meservey, they showed a practical way to implement room temperature magnetic tunnel junction (MTJ) using a magnetic stack based on CoFe–Al2O3–Co, demonstrating a tunnel magnetoresistance ratio (TMR) of 11.8%.

Trinity College Dublin (TCD), where he has been in the physics department since 1978, awarded him ScD (1987) and the University of Grenoble awarded him Dip. d'Habilitation (1986) and an honorary doctorate (1994). He served as Erasmus Smith's Professor of Natural and Experimental Philosophy at TCD from 2007 to 2012.
Spin-stabilized magnetic levitation is a phenomenon of magnetic levitation whereby a spinning magnet or array of magnets is levitated via magnetic forces above another magnet or array of magnets, and stabilised by gyroscopic effect due to a spin that is neither too fast, nor too slow to allow for a necessary precession.

Dr. Fred E. Luborsky (1923–2010) was an American physical chemist noted for his contributions to the field of permanent magnetism and amorphous metals. Luborsky held 21 patents. Luborsky was a fellow in the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, a fellow of the American Institute of Chemists and a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. He was also president of the IEEE's Magnetic Society. He was elected to the National Academy of Engineering in 1985. Luborsky received Centennial Medal of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. The Chicago Tribune called Luborsky "an internationally known authority on permanent magnets and amorphous metals".
