Phillips was educated at St. John's College, Manitoba and ordained in 1933. After a curacy in Roblin held incumbencies at Shoal Lakes andWinnipeg. He was also a Chaplain in the RCAF from 1942 to 1945.

Following his father's death, Edward succeeded to the throne in 1307. He married Isabella, the daughter of the powerful King Philip IV of France, in 1308, as part of a long-running effort to resolve tensions between the English and French crowns.
The Mamas and the Papas were an American folk rock vocal group which recorded and performed from 1965 to 1968. The group was a defining force in the music scene of the counterculture of the 1960s.
