Georgia O'Connor (born 18 February 2000 [2] ) is an English professional boxer. As an amateur, she won a gold medal at the 2017 Commonwealth Youth Games, silver at the 2017 Youth World Championships, [3] and bronze at the 2018 Youth World Championships. [4] She also reached the quarter-finals at the 2018 European Youth Championships after winning bronze and silver medals as a junior in previous editions of the tournament. [5]

Personal life

O'Connor is of Irish descent. [6] She lived in France for a brief period as a child and is a fluent French speaker. She is a black belt and 3-time National Champion in Taekwondo as well as being undefeated in kickboxing. As of 2022, she is studying for a degree in civil engineering. She plays the guitar and sings in her spare time. [7]

The European Amateur Boxing Championships is the highest competition for boxing amateurs in Europe, organised by the continent's governing body EUBC, which stands for the European Boxing Confederation. The first edition of the tournament took place in 1924, although the first 'competitive' championships were hosted by the city of Stockholm (Sweden) in 1925.
