Gerard Hartmann

Gerard Hartmann (born 1960or1961) [1] is a physical therapist based in Limerick, Ireland. [2] Previously competing as a triathlete, [3] Hartmann was the Irish national triathlon champion on several occasions in the 1980s and early 1990s. [4] [5] As a physiotherapist, he has worked with a number of Olympic athletes. [6] He was also reportedly "consulted by Nike" on the design of the Nike Free running shoe. [7]

He is the only player to win 'hurler of the year' three times, in 2002, 2006, and 2012. Cian Lynch is the only other player to win the title more than once, winning it in 2018 and 2021. The Women's Mini Marathon is an annual 10k event, which takes place every June bank holiday Sunday on the streets of Dublin, Ireland. It is the largest women's event of its kind in the world, and is the largest one-day charity fundraising event in Ireland. Donie O'Sullivan is an Irish former Gaelic footballer who played for the Spa club and at senior level for the Kerry county team between 1962 and 1975. He was the recipient of Kerry's first All Star Award in 1971, a feat he repeated in 1972. In 2019, he was inducted into Munster GAA's "hall of fame".

The Abebe Bikila Award is an annual prize given by the New York Road Runners club (NYRR) to honour individuals who have made a significant contribution to the sport of long-distance running. The first recipient of the award was Ted Corbitt, a founder of both NYRR and the Road Runners Club of America, who received the honour on October 27, 1978. The award is named in honour of the two-time Olympic marathon winner Abebe Bikila of Ethiopia.

Niamh Briggs is a former Ireland women's rugby union international. She represented Ireland at the 2010 and 2014 Women's Rugby World Cups. She was also a member of the Ireland teams that won the 2013 and 2015 Women's Six Nations Championships. Briggs was a member of the first Ireland teams to defeat France, England and New Zealand. She was captain of the Ireland team when they won the 2015 Six Nations title and was the top points scorer during both the 2013 and 2015 Six Nations championships. Briggs is also an Ireland women's rugby sevens international and has also played senior ladies' Gaelic football for Waterford. Briggs is a Garda Síochána officer based in Limerick.

Lynne Cantwell is an Irish rugby union player. 2014 Women's Rugby World Cup. She is Ireland's most capped female player. She played at the 2013 Rugby World Cup Sevens.

The 2002 London Marathon was the 22nd running of the annual marathon race in London, United Kingdom, which took place on Sunday, 14 April. The elite men's race was won by Khalid Khannouchi of the United States in a time of 2:05:38 hours and the women's race was won by home athlete Paula Radcliffe in 2:18:56. Khannouchi's time was a marathon world record, improving on his own record by four seconds. Radcliffe was also close to a world record, just nine seconds off the time set by Catherine Ndereba the previous year.

BusConnects is an ongoing public transport infrastructure programme, managed by the National Transport Authority (NTA), focused on the bus networks in several cities in Ireland. Described by the NTA as intended to "improve bus services across the country", as of mid-2022 the programme was in "implementation" phase in Dublin, "consultation" phase in Cork, with the Minister for Transport projecting similar initiatives in Galway, Limerick and Waterford. Aspects of the plans proved controversial with local politicians, residents, and unions in both Dublin and Cork.
