Gertrude Aubauer (born 13 July 1951) is an Austrian journalist and politician. While serving at the Austrian Parliament for the Austrian People's Party she mostly involved in activities targeting senior citizens.
Aubauer was born in Vienna on 13 July 1951. [1] [2] She received a degree in economics from the University of Vienna in 1974. [1] [2]
Following her graduation Aubauer began to work as a journalist at the Österreichischer Rundfunk, national public broadcaster of Austria in 1975. [2] [3] She was first employed at the ORF radio, Studio Vienna. [4] Then she served as the parliamentary editor and the moderator of the parliamentary program Hohes Haus. [4] [5] From 1980 she was employed at Zeit im Bild which she moderated between 1986 and 1994. [2] In 1981 she joined the Social Democratic Party of Austria and left the party in 2000. [2] She worked at the press office of the Parliament from 1995 and also, contributed to the paper Kronen Zeitung . [2] [3]
Aubauer became a member of the Austrian People's Party in 2006. [6] She was elected as a member of the Parliament in 2006 and served there for three terms during the XXIV., XXV. and XXIII. legislations. [1] Her activities were generally towards the senior people. [6] Her term at the Parliament ended in late 2017. [6] Then she joined the Senior Citizens' Association, serving as its deputy chair. [1] [6]
Aubauer was awarded the Leopold Kunschak Press Prize in March 2004. [3] She is the recipient of the Decoration of Honour for Services to the Republic of Austria in gold which was awarded to her on 12 July 2017. [1]

The Austrian Parliament Building in Vienna is the meeting place of the two houses of the Austrian Parliament. The building is located on the Ringstraße in the first district, Innere Stadt, near Hofburg Palace and the Palace of Justice. It was built to house the two chambers of the Imperial Council (Reichsrat), the bicameral legislature of the Cisleithanian (Austrian) part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Since its construction, the Parliament Building has been the seat of these two houses, and their successors—the National Council (Nationalrat) and the Federal Council (Bundesrat)—of the Austrian legislature.
Michael Spindelegger is an Austrian politician. He served in the cabinet of Chancellor Werner Faymann as foreign minister of Austria from 2008 to 2013 and as finance minister from 2013 to 2014; additionally, he held the office of vice-chancellor from 2011 to 2014. Martha Bißmann is an Austrian politician. She served in the National Council from 2017 to 2019, entering as a member of the Peter Pilz List after its leader Peter Pilz withdrew. She was expelled from the party in July 2018, and thereafter served as an independent deputy. She did not seek re-election in the 2019 election. Prior to this, she was campaign manager for independent candidate Irmgard Griss during her 2016 presidential bid.

Karl Nehammer is an Austrian politician who has been the 29th chancellor of Austria since 2021. A member of the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP), he previously was Minister of the Interior from 2020 to 2021, general secretary of the ÖVP from 2018 to 2020, as well as a member of the National Council from 2017 to 2020. Nehammer assumed the chancellorship as the successor of Alexander Schallenberg, who resigned to return as Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Ringturm is a prominent skyscraper in Vienna, Austria, and is the headquarters of the Vienna Insurance Group. It was built from 1953 to 1955 after a design by Erich Boltenstern at the Schottenring. The tower is 73 m (240 ft) tall, with 12,000 m2 (130,000 sq ft) of office space, and is the second highest building within the Vienna Ringstraße, after the Stephansdom. It is a venue for architecture exhibitions, and is known for being turned into a piece of art annually, wrapped in cloth designed by notable artists including Robert Hammerstiel, Xenia Hausner, Arnulf Rainer and Mihael Milunović.
