Ghanem Ghubash is an Emirati film producer in the United Arab Emirates. He is the creator and producer of the first Emirati science-fiction film in the Arab world called Aerials , and the producer of the Emirati post-apocalyptic science-fiction film The Sons of Two Suns . [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6]

Early life and career

Ghanem Ghubash is the son of journalist, Dr.Mohammad Obaid Ghubash, who was also the chairman of the UAE's chess federation. [7] [8] [9] [10] [11] Ghanem Ghubash was named after his uncle, Ghanem Obaid Ghubash, who was the president of UAE's Football Association in the 1970s, and was considered among the leading intellectuals of United Arab Emirates. [12] [13] [14]

Ghanem studied film-making at UCSD before starting his career as a film producer in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. [15] He founded the company Fat Brothers Films with his childhood friend, and UAE based film director S. A. Zaidi. The company was named after them, since they were frequently referred to as the Fat Brothers, or dynamic duo. [16] [17]

Most notably Adnan Pachachi who was appointed as Minister of State in the first Government of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. Pachachi is known for his role in submitting the UAE's application for membership in the United Nations. In a meeting with Prime Minster of Iraq, Mustafa Al-Kadhimi, Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan stated that "Iraqis have contributed in building the UAE, and there are many of them who worked, built, developed and helped build the Emirates, and we mention this credit to them, whether engineers, doctors, or even politicians and others. There are still many Iraqis living in the UAE, and they are credited.”

It stars Saga Alyasery, Ana Druzhynina, Mansoor Alfeeli, and Mohammad Abu Diak.

A Tale of Shadows is a 2017 Emirati thriller film directed and written by Tariq Al Kazim and produced by Yunjie Han. The film stars Chuka Ekweogwu, Rik Aby, Arzu Neuwirth, and Almer Agmyren in the lead roles. The film was released all over the United Arab Emirates, and most of the shooting was done on the outskirts of the country. The film followed by the sequel A Tale of Shadows: Illusions.

Hazza Al Mansouri Emirati astronaut

Hazza Al Mansouri (Arabic: هَزَّاع ٱلْمَنْصُوْرِي, romanized: Hazzāʿ Al-Manṣūrī, surname also spelled "Al Mansoori", full name Hazza Ali Abdan Khalfan Al Mansouri is an Emirati astronaut and the first person from the United Arab Emirates in space. Previously, he was the UAE's youngest F-16 fighter pilot. On 25 September 2019, he launched aboard the Soyuz MS-15 spacecraft to the International Space Station, where he stayed for eight days. He landed safely in Kazakhstan, on 3 October 2019 aboard Soyuz MS-12 completing the United Arab Emirates first astronaut mission.

S. A. Zaidi is a Dubai-based film director in the United Arab Emirates. He is best known for the first Arab science fiction film Aerials, and the Emirati post-apocalyptic science fiction film The Sons of Two Suns.

Obaid Al Tayer is an Emirati businessman and politician. He is the Chairman of Al Tayer Group and currently serves as Cabinet Member and Minister of State for Financial Affairs in the United Arab Emirates.

Salha Obeid an Emirati writer and novelist was born in 1988. She published two novels and three short-story collections including "Alzheimers" which was published in 2010 and was translated into German. In 2016, her book "An Implicitly White Lock of Hair" won Al Owais Award for Creative Writing.
