Ghosting Season is an electronic music band from Manchester, UK. [1] [2] They also operate a small recording label, "This is It Forever". [3]

History

The band was started in early 2011 by Gavin Miller and Thomas Ragsdale, and was originally a spin off from the electronic group worriedaboutsatan, [4] [5] and plays similar music but with rhythms more suitable for dancing. [6] The band initially self-released two EPs: 'Far End Of The Graveyard', [7] and the 'Far End Of The Graveyard Remixes'. [8]

Their debut album, 'The Very Last Of The Saints' was released in 2012 by Last Night On Earth, the imprint started by Sasha, [9] to a generally positive critical response. [10] [11] [12] [13]

The singles 'Far End Of The Graveyard' and 'A Muffled Sound Of Voices' brought the band to a larger audience thanks to radio airplay. [14] XFM DJ Mary Anne Hobbs later featured a guest mix from the band on her Saturday evening show [15]

The band are particularly known for their live shows, as they use a mixture of more traditional instrumentation such as guitars and vocals, with electronic elements like laptops and Roland SPD-S drum pads. [16]

In 2013, the band toured the UK, [17] [18] including a performance at the "Sounds from the Other City" concert in Salford.

In 2014, the band released a library of sound samples that it had created. [19]

Blur (band) English rock band

Blur are an English rock band. Formed in London in 1988, the group consists of singer Damon Albarn, guitarist Graham Coxon, bassist Alex James and drummer Dave Rowntree. Blur's debut album Leisure (1991) incorporated the sounds of Madchester and shoegazing. These artists generally moved away from the blues influences and song structure found in traditional Anglo-American rock music, instead utilizing hypnotic rhythms, tape-music techniques, and early synthesizers. Prominent groups associated with the krautrock label included Neu!, Can, Faust, Tangerine Dream, Kraftwerk, Cluster, Ash Ra Tempel, Popol Vuh, Amon Düül II and Harmonia.

Heavenly Recordings is a London-based independent record label founded by Jeff Barrett in 1990. Heavenly released the first albums from Saint Etienne, Beth Orton and Doves, and early singles by Manic Street Preachers. Current Heavenly artists include Stealing Sheep, Mattiel, The Orielles, Confidence Man, audiobooks, Pip Blom, H. Hawkline, King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, Gwenno Saunders, Amber Arcades, Working Men's Club, Katy J Pearson and CHAI.

Disco Inferno (band)

Mary Anne Hobbs is an English DJ and music journalist from Lancashire, England. She currently hosts the BBC Radio 6 Music weekday mid-morning show, Monday to Friday, 10:30 am – 1 pm, and her 6 Music Recommends show, Wednesday night into Thursday morning, midnight – 1 am. She is also a curator of live events. In 2019 she created a radical live show Queens Of The Electronic Underground for Manchester International Festival and assisted David Lynch with his musical presentation at the festival, following her series of shows, "Dark Matter" at MIF 2017. She staged a BBC Prom with Nils Frahm and A Winged Victory for the Sullen in 2015. She performs as a live DJ internationally, at events such as the opening of Switch House at TATE Modern.

Tom Smith (musician) English musician

Thomas Michael Henry Smith is an English musician, singer, and songwriter. He is best known as the lead singer, songwriter, keyboardist, and rhythm guitarist of the indie rock band Editors.

Richard Norris was born 23 June 1965 and is a London-based record producer, song writer, sound engineer, musician, DJ and author. He is best known as a member of electronic dance band The Grid. Richard has also worked as a producer and engineer since the 80s with artists such as: Bryan Ferry, Genesis Breyer P-Orridge, Marc Almond, Joe Strummer and the Pet Shop Boys.

Worriedaboutsatan is an electronic band that originated in Bradford, West Yorkshire, England, UK. The band was formed by Gavin Miller in 2006 as a fusion of glitch, techno, electronica, rock and metal, later joined by Tom Ragsdale.
