Description

The Ghosts of Albion Roleplaying Game is based on the animated BBCi films Ghosts of Albion created by Christopher Golden and Amber Benson.

The same Cinematic Unisystem used in the Buffy the Vampire Slayer RPG was adopted for use in Ghosts of Albion.

Publication history

The Ghosts of Albion Roleplaying Game was published by Eden Studios, Inc. in 2008.

On June 28, 2007, Eden Studios released the "quick start" version of the Ghosts of Albion RPG. This free PDF, written by Timothy S. Brannan and Garner Johnson is designed to introduce players to the Ghosts of Albion RPG. The PDF version of the complete RPG was published in August 2008 and is available from the Eden Studios website for the game. [1] The print version of the RPG, originally due in September 2008, was released in December 2011. Created by Amber Benson and Christopher Golden and written by Timothy S. Brannan. [2]

Reception

Ghosts of Albion has received a number of positive reviews. It is one of only a couple of games to get two positive reviews from Game Geeks. [3] [4] Wiegel stated that "Ghosts of Albion is "The best modern urban fantasy game you can use." [3] and "Do you need Ghosts of Albion? Yes you do." [4]

Ghosts of Albion has also received positive reviews from RPGNet reviewer Dan Davenport, giving it 5/5 for Style and 5/5 for Substance. [5]

In November 2014, it has a 4.8 average rating, out of 5, from all reviewers on DriveThruRPG/RPGNow. [6]

Ghosts of Albion is a series of fantasy films, books and role-playing games created by Amber Benson and Christopher Golden. Set in England, the storyline focuses on two siblings, Tamara and William Swift. The series started as a computer-animated web movie series on the BBC's website and has now spawned two book adaptations and two novels and a role-playing game.

Buffyverse role-playing games

The Buffyverse role-playing games - the Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel role-playing games - are complementary, officially licensed role-playing games (RPGs) published by Eden Studios, Inc. The Buffy the Vampire Slayer Core Rulebook was published in 2002, while the Angel Corebook followed in 2003. Both games use a streamlined version of Eden Studios' popular Unisystem game engine, also featured in CJ Carella's WitchCraft and All Flesh Must Be Eaten, two of Eden's better-known original product lines. In both games, players are able to take on the roles of characters from the respective television series or create wholly original characters as they and their group see fit, effectively building their own Buffyverse series in the process.

Unisystem is a generic role-playing game system produced by Eden Studios, Inc. It is used in All Flesh Must Be Eaten, the Buffyverse role-playing games, CJ Carella's WitchCraft, Conspiracy X , and several other games. Games designed using Unisystem have been nominated for, and won, Origins Awards.

The annual ENnie Awards are annual, fan-based awards for role-playing game products and publishers hosted at Gen Con in Indianapolis, Indiana. The name of the award is derived from the EN World web site that hosted the awards from their inception in 2001 until 2018, and retains the name, although is no longer part of EN World. The ENnies were created by Russ Morrissey and Eric Noah and were run and owned by Morrissey until 2018.

Eden Studios, Inc. is an American role-playing game publisher founded in 1996 by George Vasilakos, M. Alexander Jurkat, and Ed Healy. Currently run by Mr. Vasilakos, Eden Studios is best known for Conspiracy X, the Buffyverse role-playing games, All Flesh Must Be Eaten, CJ Carella's WitchCraft and most recently for the City of Heroes Roleplaying Game, an unreleased adaptation of Cryptic Studios' MMORPG City of Heroes. Although there has been no activity or news from the company in over a year, with their Facebook page's last post in August 2017. It is unknown at this time if the company is active.
