Gianmarco Donaggio (born 4 August 1991) is an Italian experimental film director and cinematographer.
In 2010–2020, Donaggio lived and worked between the UK and Norway. [1] [2] He debuted as a film director at the Pesaro Film Festival with the film Manifestarsi (2021), [3] [4] [5] in the years following he produced the film performance In Visible Light (2023). He is a member of the European Film Academy, and a former Berlinale Talents. [6] [7] [8] [9] [10]
He graduated in image philosophy at the University of Lund. [11] His works are primarily non-narrative and are presented as a reflection on image and motion. In Visible Light world premiered October 13, 2023 at the Mirage film festival in Oslo, it was shown twice in different formats. [27] [28]
The film is edited differently every time it is shown, making it a performance-film. [29] It was presented as "a colorful audiovisual experience when the Italian filmmaker Gianmarco Donaggio performs his cinematic experience live, paying tribute to electricity and power." [27]

Azul no Azul is a short Portuguese experimental film created by Italian filmmaker Gianmarco Donaggio and Portuguese painter Nelson Ferreira. The film was produced and distributed in collaboration with the National Museum of Contemporary Art in Portugal, and it premiered at the museum on the 28th of July 2022, after which it was exhibited in the cinema of the museum from the 29th of July until the 15th of September 2022. A second version was created for Soares dos Reis National Museum to celebrate the 150 years of the sculpture ‘The Exiled’ by António Soares dos Reis and screened at the museum from the 10th of December 2022 until 19 March 2023. The city of Lucca projected it on a loop for a week. Listed by Berlinale Talents when the director was nominated as Talent in 2024. Art critic Simona Frigerio compared this film to Derek Jarman's last masterpiece Blue.
Sodoma: The Dark Side of Gomorrah is a 2012 Italian comedy Vincenzo Pirozzi. The film is a spoof of Neapolitan mafia films, in particular of Matteo Garrone's Gomorrah. It won the Best Comedy Film award at the 2012 New York City International Film Festival, where it had its world premiere.
