Gillette Ridge Golf Club is a public golf course located in Bloomfield, Connecticut. Located on the Cigna headquarters campus (formerly known as Connecticut General Life Insurance), it is the only public Arnold Palmer designed course in the Northeast. Cigna Insurance currently owns the property and has Arnold Palmer Golf Management running the daily operations. [1]

History

On September 27, 1999, Cigna announced plans to develop land at its Bloomfield headquarters. This included a golf course, conference center, hotel, office buildings, and homes. [3] The project was named Gilette Ridge in December 2001. [2] The course opened to the public on July 30, 2004. [4]

Course

The course is noted for its difficulty, with a relatively large number of hazards. [5]

It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on January 27, 2010. Built between 1954 and 1957, it is an important early example of suburban commercial office architecture, and one of the state's best example of the International style of architecture. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2010. It continues to serve as the corporate headquarters for Cigna, as the company is now known.

The Ritz-Carlton Half Moon Bay is a luxury hotel and golf resort in Half Moon Bay northern California. The hotel is a Forbes Five Star hotel, and was featured on the travel channel series Great Hotels. The hotel has 261 rooms, that in 2019, started at US$920 a night. The hotel began construction in 1998, and finished in 2001. The hotel is the biggest employer for the town of Half Moon Bay, California, with approximately 550 jobs. The hotel was purchased by Anbang Insurance Group in 2015, and after its bankruptcy has had repeated offers from other buyers, but as of September 2021 there were no buyers.
