Gina Godoy Andrade (born 26 April 1962) is an Ecuadorian politician, feminist and supporter of LGBTQ rights. She is currently the representative in the National Assembly for the province of Guayas and is the vice president of the Justice Commission of the Assembly.
Godoy was born in the town of Chone on 26 April 1962. [1] Since 1997, she has been a member of the Ecuadorian Centre for the Promotion and Action of Women (Cepam), which is centered with respect to the defense of the rights of women, children and adolescents. [2] Godoy was the representative for the Province of Guayas in the Ecuador Constituent Assembly of 2007 and 2008 for the PAIS Alliance social movement party. [3] In the legislative elections in Ecuador, 2009 she was elected as assembly person for the Province of Guayas. [4] During this period, Godoy prompted laws in favor of human rights and particularly women, as well as a law on trafficking, [5] and the criminalisation of femicide as a particular type of criminal offence. [6] She sought reelection in the legislative elections of Ecuador in 2013 and reintroduced her main proposals on projects regarding women's rights. [7] She and Paola Pabón presented a motion to the National Assembly to discuss the decriminalization of abortion in cases of rape. The motion was supported by nineteen other members of the governing party, [8] including Rosana Alvarado who was the vice president of the legislature, [9] but the motion was opposed by the President.
Once reelected, she became the vice president of the Justice Commission of the Assembly. [10]
Godoy has participated in several times acts in favour of women's and LGBT rights groups. During the debate on the criminalisation of femicide as a criminal offence in 2011, she was one of the two assembly people who received a manifesto delivered by more than 50 social organisations demanding that femicide be considered as a crime. [11] In addition, she has attended the march by the pride parade in the city of Guayaquil several times, [12] and supports same-sex marriage. [13]
Cynthia Fernanda Viteri Jiménez de Váscones is an Ecuadorian lawyer, journalist and politician. On March 24, 2019, she was elected Mayor of Guayaquil, the second-largest city in Ecuador, in the sectional elections of Ecuador for a term from May 14, 2019 until May 14, 2023. She was the presidential candidate for Partido Social Cristiano in the 2017 presidential elections, and was a candidate in the 2006 presidential elections of Ecuador and finished fifth. Between 1998 and 2007 she was a member of the National Congress. In 2009 she became a member of the National Assembly.
Gabriela Alejandra Rivadeneira Burbano is an Ecuadorian politician. She was President of the National Assembly of Ecuador between May 2013 and May 2017. Previously she was Governor of Imbabura Province from 2011 to 2012.
The President of the National Assembly is the presiding officer of the legislature of Ecuador. In 2009 the National Congress of Ecuador was replaced by the National Assembly. The position of President of the National Assembly has existed since then.

Paola Verenice Pabón Caranqui is an Ecuadorian lawyer, politician and feminist who ran for President of Ecuador in the 2025 general election. She has served as a representative to the National Assembly for the PAIS Alliance movement from 2009 and 2015 and has also worked under the presidencies of Rafael Correa and Lenin Moreno.
Viviana Patricia Bonilla Salcedo is an Ecuadorian lawyer and politician. She was a National Assemblywoman and First Vice President of the National Assembly of Ecuador. She was dismissed from the National Assembly in September 2020.
