Giovanni Battista Dordoni or Dordone (died 1599) was an Italian painter active in Castelleone. [1]

Biography

Dordoni painted the frescoes depicting Christ and the Apostles in the Sanctuary of the Misericordia in Castelleone. [2] In 1588 he painted the clock face in the Torrazzo in Cremona. [3] One of his pupils was the sculptor Francesco Gritto, called Mombello, also native of Castelleone. [4]

In the refectory of the convent of San Vitale, he painted a Last Supper.

He studied first under Orazio Samacchini in Bologna, and subsequently established himself in Parma, where he was inspired chiefly by the work of Tibaldi, Correggio and Parmigianino. Giovanni Battista Bertucci

Giovanni Battista da Faenza, called Bertucci, who painted in the style of Perugino and Pinturicchio, flourished in the early part of the 16th century at Faenza. In the Pinacoteca of that city there are various works ascribed to him, of which the most remarkable is a Majesty, signed by him and bearing the date 1506. Crowe and Cavalcaselle also claim for Bertucci an Adoration of the Magi in the Berlin Gallery, there ascribed to Pinturicchio, and a Glorification of the Virgin in the National Gallery, given in the catalogue to Lo Spagna, who was a pupil of Perugino.
