Giulia Maenza (born 15 December 1999) is an Italian fashion model and actress.
Maenza was born in Sicily, to Nicola, a physical education teacher, and Concetta, an accountant. She has two older brothers, Davide and Marco. [1]
Maenza was discovered at a stadium by a former model. [3] She debuted as a semi-exclusive for Versace, [1] also walking for Dolce & Gabbana [4] (who would become a frequent collaborator), [5] Ermanno Scervino, Moschino, DSquared2, Giambattista Valli, Elie Saab, Armani Privé, Christopher Kane, Max Mara, Blumarine, Miu Miu, Azzedine Alaïa, and Oscar de la Renta. [6] She has appeared in advertisements for Bvlgari, Chopard, shoemaker René Caovilla, [7] Topshop, Dolce & Gabbana, and Express. Editorially, she has appeared in Vogue Italia , Vogue Spain, Vogue Paris , Marie Claire , Vogue Japan, Vanity Fair France, and Vogue Germany.
In 2021, Giulia starred in the Netflix feature film The Invisible Thread (Il filo invisibile), directed by Marco Simon Puccioni, alongside Francesco Scianna, Filippo Timi, Francesco Gheghi, and Matteo Oscar Giuggioli. Her performance earned her the Atena Nike Award for Best Debut Actress in 2022. In 2022, she took on the role of Teresa Suro, the daughter of a feared mafia boss, in the Amazon Prime Video original series The Bad Guy, acting opposite Luigi Lo Cascio. She reprised the role in the sequel, The Bad Guy 2, released in 2024. In March 2025, Giulia stars in the romantic sports comedy U.S Palmese, directed by Marco and Antonio Manetti, co-starring Rocco Papaleo. The film premiered at the 2024 Rome Film Festival.
She recently appeared at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival in the Out of Competition section, playing the role of Eura in Orfeo, directed by Virgilio Villoresi and co-starring Luca Vergoni.
Coming up, she will also appear in the dramatic feature film Wandering and Shipwrecked Trees (Alberi erranti e naufraghi), directed by Salvatore Mereu, based on the novel by Alberto Capitta.
