JabaIoseliani was a Georgian politician, member of Parliament of Georgia, writer, thief-in-law and leader of the paramilitary organisation Mkhedrioni.
The Mkhedrioni was a paramilitary group in the Republic of Georgia, known for its high-profile involvement in the Georgian Civil War and the War in Abkhazia. It was outlawed since 1995 but subsequently reconstituted as the Union of Patriots political party. However, failing to secure registration, it soon faded into obscurity.
The Svans are an ethnic subgroup of the Georgians (Kartvelians) living mostly in Svaneti, a region in northwest Georgia. They speak the Svan language and are mostly bilingual also in Georgian. Both these languages belong to the Kartvelian language family. In the pre-1930 Soviet census, the Svans were categorized as a separate ethnic group. The self-designation of the Svan is Mushüan, which is probably reflected in the ethnonym Misimian of the Classical authors.

Givi Gachechiladze is a Georgian composer and conductor, currently the leader of the Tbilisi Municipal Orchestra. Givi Gachechiladze first gained public attention with an instrumental composition called "Vic" which was included in Victor Feldman's Soviet Jazz Themes, the world's first album of Soviet jazz released in the US and abroad in 1963. Later, Givi Gachechiladze led the Ukrainian Jazz Orchestra as well as the Pop/Symphony Orchestra of Ukrainian National Television. After returning to Georgia, he was the leader of the Tbilisi Philharmonic, the composer, conductor and musical director of Rero, the Tbilisi Television Orchestra, Theatron, and Mardzhanishvili Theater. In 1997, he founded the Tbilisi Municipal Orchestra, which brought the band leader even more recognition. Today the orchestra, also known as the Tbilisi Big Band or the Tbilisi Concert Orchestra, is one of the most highly sought orchestras in the post-Soviet region. In 2006, the Tbilisi Municipal Orchestra, Givi Gachechiladze's direction, won the Monte-Carlo International Jazz Awards of 2006.
