Glen Alton Huff (born June 18,1951) is a Judge of the Virginia Court of Appeals.
Huff was born in 1951 in Skowhegan,Maine. He received his Bachelor of Arts from University of Maine and his Juris Doctor from the University of New Hampshire School of Law. [2]
He practiced law with the firm of Huff,Poole &Mahoney,P.C. in Hampton Roads,Virginia. [3]
He was elected by the General Assembly on July 29,2011,to an eight-year term beginning August 1,2011,to fill the vacancy created by the elevation of Cleo E. Powell to the Supreme Court of Virginia. [2] [4] He was re-elected to a second eight-year term on January 16,2019. His current term expires in 2027. [5] He was elected by the court on October 20,2014,to a four-year term as chief judge beginning January 1,2015,filling the vacancy created by the retirement of Walter S. Felton Jr. [3] He was succeed as Chief Judge by Judge Marla Graff Decker. [6]
The Court of Appeals of Virginia,established January 1,1985,is an intermediate appellate court of 17 judges that hears appeals from decisions of Virginia's circuit courts and the Virginia Workers' Compensation Commission. The Court sits in panels of at least three judges,and sometimes hears cases en banc. Appeals from the Court of Appeals go to the Supreme Court of Virginia.
