Atom Heart Mother is the fifth studio album by the English progressive rock band Pink Floyd. It was released by Harvest on 2 October 1970 in the UK, and by Capitol on 10 October 1970 in the US. It was recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London, England, and was the band's first album to reach number 1 in the UK, while it reached number 55 in the US, eventually going gold there. A remastered CD was released in 1994 in the UK and the United States, and again in 2011. Ron Geesin, who had already influenced and collaborated with Roger Waters, contributed to the title track and received a then-rare outside songwriting credit.
Camp Floyd was a short-lived U.S. Army post in the Cedar Valley, Utah, United States. The Stagecoach Inn was a nearby hotel which also served as a stagecoach stop and, during 1860-1861, a Pony Express stop. Both were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in the 1970s, and now are included in a Utah state park known as Camp Floyd / Stagecoach Inn State Park and Museum.
Charley Arthur Floyd, nicknamed Pretty Boy Floyd, was an American bank robber. He operated in the West and Central states, and his criminal exploits gained widespread press coverage in the 1930s. He was pursued and killed by a group of Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents led by Melvin Purvis. Historians have speculated as to which officers were at the event, but accounts document that local officers Robert "Pete" Pyle and George Curran were present at his fatal shooting and also at his embalming. Floyd has continued to be a familiar figure in American popular culture, sometimes seen as notorious, other times portrayed as a tragic figure, even a victim of the hard times of the Great Depression in the United States.

Franklin Delano Floyd is an American death row inmate. He was convicted of the 1989 murder of Cheryl Ann Commesso, a mother of three from Florida, as well as the kidnapping of his 6-year-old stepson from his elementary school in Choctaw, Oklahoma. Floyd is also considered a person of interest in the 1990 hit-and-run death of his wife Sharon Marshall. It was later discovered that before becoming his wife, Sharon had been raised by Floyd from an early age as his daughter and was herself kidnapped by Floyd as a child.
Floyd County High School is a public school located in Floyd, Virginia. It serves all children, grades 8-12 in Floyd County, Virginia with an approximate enrollment of 800. The current school was established in 1962. The schools mascot is the buffalo and the school colors are black and gold.
Floyd Gass was an American football and basketball player, coach, and college athletics administrator. He served as the head football coach at Austin College from 1961 to 1968, having previously been offensive coordinator, and at Oklahoma State University–Stillwater from 1969 to 1971, compiling a career college football record of 56–46–2. He was voted the Big Eight Conference Coach of the Year in 1969. His record was 13–18–1 in his three seasons at Oklahoma State. Gass was also the head basketball coach at Austin College from 1955 to 1962, tallying a mark of 71–80, and served as athletic director. He was an alumnus of Oklahoma State, and played football and basketball while attending the university. Gass was one of three head football coaches at Oklahoma State to have played for Oklahoma State, along with Jim Lookabaugh and current head coach Mike Gundy. Gass served as athletics director at OSU from 1971 through 1978, when he left OSU to pursue other business opportunities. Gass died on March 3, 2006, at the age of 79.
Midwestern College was a private liberal arts college that operated from 1965 to 1970 in Denison, Iowa. Midwestern was one of several colleges in the upper Midwest established by local civic leaders with the support and encouragement of Parsons College in Fairfield, Iowa. These Parsons "satellite schools" were by-products of the strong growth and apparent success of Parsons during the late 1950s and early 1960s, and all followed the "Parsons Plan" academic model developed at that school. None of the schools, however, were ultimately successful.
The 1982 PGA Championship was the 64th PGA Championship, held August 5–8 at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Raymond Floyd won his second PGA Championship, three strokes ahead of runner-up Lanny Wadkins, the 1977 champion. A few weeks shy of age 40, Floyd shot an opening round 63 (−7) and led wire-to-wire to secure the third of his four major titles. He won his first PGA Championship thirteen years earlier, in 1969.

Floyd Burdette was a head coach for both the Alabama and Tennessee–Martin Skyhawks men's basketball teams. Born in Martin, Tennessee, Burdette played college basketball for one season at UT Junior College and three at Murray State University from 1935 to 1938. In all four season he competed, Burdette led his team in scoring and was an all-conference selection. He then attended Oklahoma A&M where he both coached and played in 1944 before he began his head coaching career.
P. Kay Floyd is an American politician who represents the 46th district in the Oklahoma Senate. A Democrat, her district includes parts of Oklahoma City. She was first elected to the Oklahoma House of Representatives in the 2012 state election and took office on November 14, 2012.
Billie Jean Floyd has been a longtime educator, Oklahoma state senator, and civic leader. Floyd served in the Oklahoma Senate from 1984 to 1988, representing district 13. After her time in office, Floyd has remained active in historical preservation and several other community service projects. After her term, she served both as P.T. Supervisor for first year teachers at her alma mater, East Central University and P.T. Field Representative for the US Census Bureau.

In their second season under head coach Floyd Gass, the Cowboys compiled a 4–7 record, tied for sixth place in the conference, and were outscored by opponents by a combined total of 337 to 215.

James R. Floyd is the chief executive of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation located in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. Floyd won 2,964 votes constituting 62% of the votes in the 2015 general elections, which took place on November 2, 2015, to beat incumbent Chief George Tiger. On January 2, 2016 Floyd was sworn in as Muscogee (Creek) Nation principal chief by MCN Supreme Court Chief Justice Andrew Adams III during an inauguration ceremony at the Mvskoke Dome in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. His term officially began on January 4, 2016.
