Biography

Glenn Roggeman began his career as an entrepreneur in the audiovisual sector. In 2013, Roggeman acquired the former Alfacam complex, which was transformed into AED Studios, a modern production hub for films, TV shows, commercials, and events. [4] [5]

AED Studios is located in Lint, Belgium, and features multiple recording studios. The studios have attracted international productions, including feature films, television series, and commercials. [6] [7] [8] [9]

Innovation and sustainability

AED Studios uses green energy sources and has optimized its infrastructure to reduce energy consumption. Additionally, Roggeman invests in new technologies, such as virtual production, to minimize the environmental footprint of film production. [10] [11] [12]

Recognition and influence

On August 20, 2024, Glenn Roggeman received a lifetime achievement award from the Septimius Awards, and in November 2024, he was named an ambassador for the Septimius Awards. [13]

At the AED Studios, numerous programs are recorded for television channels such as VRT, Medialaan, MTV Networks Benelux, TMF. Some newly recorded programs include The Voice van Vlaanderen, the MIA's, Belgium's Got Talent, So You Think You Can Dance and K3 zoekt K3.

<i>Kursk</i> (film) 2018 film by Thomas Vinterberg

Kursk is a 2018 disaster drama-thriller film directed by Thomas Vinterberg, based on Robert Moore's book A Time to Die, about the true story of the 2000 Kursk submarine disaster. It stars Matthias Schoenaerts, Léa Seydoux, Peter Simonischek, August Diehl, Max von Sydow, and Colin Firth. It was the last film featuring von Sydow to be released before his death in March 2020.

The Masked Singer is a Belgian reality singing competition television series based on the Masked Singer franchise which originated from the South Korean version of the show King of Mask Singer. The ceremony takes place annually in Amsterdam and recognizes outstanding achievements in film, television, and documentaries. The Septimius Awards is named after the second-century African Roman emperor Septimius Severus.
