The Eastern League (EL) was a Minor League Baseball (MiLB) sports league that operated under that name from 1938 until its last scheduled season of 2020, after which it ceased operation due to a reorganization of the minor leagues by Major League Baseball. The league played at the Double-A level in 1963 and later, and consisted primarily of teams located in the Northeastern United States.

The Lynn Sailors were a Minor League Baseball franchise that originated in 1980 in Lynn, Massachusetts. The team was founded in 1980 as the Glens Falls White Sox, the Double-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox. In 1986, the team affiliated with the Detroit Tigers and changed the team name to reflect the new affiliation. After the 1988 season, the franchise moved to London, Ontario and became the London Tigers in 1989. The franchise finally relocated to Trenton, New Jersey as the Trenton Thunder in 1994.
The Allentown Red Sox (A-Sox) were a minor league baseball team, affiliated with the Boston Red Sox and based in Allentown, Pennsylvania, that played from 1958 through 1960 in the Eastern League. At that time, the Eastern League was officially Class A, but, prior to the minor-league classification realignment that took place in 1963, that level was almost equivalent to Double-A.
The Williamsport Grays were a minor league baseball team in Williamsport, Pennsylvania between 1923 and 1962. Marvis Edwin Foley is an American former Major League Baseball (MLB) catcher and coach, and minor league manager. He played for the Chicago White Sox and Texas Rangers in all or part of five seasons between 1978 and 1984, went on to serve as a catching instructor for the Colorado Rockies, and is the only manager ever to win league championships in all three major Triple-A leagues.
East Field is a stadium in Glens Falls, New York, United States that opened in 1980. It is currently used for sporting events, mostly baseball and football. The complex is the former home of the Adirondack Lumberjacks, the Glens Falls White Sox, the Glens Falls Redbirds, the Glens Falls Tigers, and the Glens Falls Golden Eagles.
James Gerard Siwy is an American former professional baseball player and police officer. A right-handed pitcher, Siwy had a brief Major League Baseball (MLB) career with the Chicago White Sox, playing in two games for the club in 1982 and another in 1984. His seven-year career in the minor leagues started in 1981 and ended in 1987. After his baseball career ended, Siwy worked with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department for over 20 years.
