Gloria Davis (born February 2, 1938) is a former American politician from New York.
Born in the Bronx, Davis went to Bronx Community College and Fordham University. She worked for the New York Supreme Court and the New York City Comptroller. Davis served in the New York State Assembly, as a Democrat from 1981 to 2003, sitting in the 184th, 185th, 186th, 187th, 188th, 189th, 190th, 191st, 192nd, 193rd and 194th New York State Legislatures.
She was re-elected in November 2002, but resigned her seat in the 195th New York State Legislature a few days into the session in January 2003 after pleading guilty to bribery. [1] She was sentenced to 90 days in jail and five years probation. [2] [3] [4]

Larry Davis, later known as Adam Abdul-Hakeem, was a black man from New York City who gained notoriety in November 1986 for his shootout in the South Bronx with officers of the New York City Police Department, in which six officers were shot. Davis, asserting self-defense, was acquitted of all charges aside from illegal gun possession. Davis was later convicted in April 1991 of a Bronx drug dealer's 1986 murder. In 2008, Davis died via stabbing by a fellow inmate.

The Cockerham bribery case involved the investigation and subsequent trials of United States Army contracting officers and their family members who were accused of accepting bribes in return for steering multimillion-dollar contracts to companies providing services for the US Army in Iraq and Kuwait between 2004 and 2007. The alleged ringleader of the accused officers was US Army Major John L. Cockerham, who was sentenced to 17 and 1/2 years in prison for accepting bribes from Army contractors. The contracts, mainly for bottled water, involved at least three US Army contracting officers, two of their family members, six companies from India, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and the United States, and up to $15 million in bribe money.
