Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed is a 2004 American mystery adventure comedy horror film based on the animated franchise Scooby-Doo. Unleashed is a 2005 action film directed by Louis Leterrier and written by Luc Besson. It was produced by Besson and Jet Li, the latter of whom also starred in the lead role. The film co-stars Morgan Freeman, Bob Hoskins, and Kerry Condon. The action scenes were choreographed by Yuen Woo-ping, with the film's setting and shooting location in Glasgow, Scotland. The film received generally positive reviews.

Unleashed is a Swedish death metal band that was formed in 1989 by Johnny Hedlund in Stockholm. Common lyrical themes found in the band's music include Viking culture, recollection of a pre-Christian world, and Norse folklore. A number of their recent songs also contain references to J. R. R. Tolkien. Unleashed is considered one of the "big four" of Swedish death metal.

The screenplay was written by the sports journalist Julie Welch. The film is inspired by Welch's childhood love of football, and helped to establish her as a screenwriter. The film was part of David Puttnam's 'First Love' series broadcast on Channel 4. It was released on 17 November 1983.
