Goethes Erben (Goethe's Heirs) is a musical group from Germany started in 1989 by Oswald Henke and Peter Seipt.
The founding idea for Goethes Erben was to combine German spoken words with musical theater. They are one of the first Neue Deutsche Todeskunst bands. [1]
By 1991, Peter had left the band and was replaced by American Mindy Kumbalek in February. Their debut album Das Sterben ist ästhetisch bunt was released in 1991.
The band's unique blend of music and theater lends itself well to multimedia releases, and they have used DVDs with pictures, interviews and concert footage since 2001. [2]
Goethes Erben have established themselves as favorite festival band, playing at M'era Luna 2001, the Eurorock Festival in Belgium, and Wave-Gotik-Treffen 2002. Their album Nichts Bleibt Wie Es War was on the 2002 German Alternative Charts for 7 weeks, peaking at #3. [3]
In July 2006, the band announced that they would have 2 concerts on the 14th and 15 September 2007, and that these would be their last concerts for a long time. The concerts sold out very quickly, and an additional concert was scheduled for September 13. On December 15, 2007, Mindy Kumbalek and Oswald Henke posted an open letter on their website explaining that the band would be going on indefinite hiatus.
Unheilig[ˈʊnhaɪ̯lɪç] was a German band that featured a variety of influences, including various pop and electronic styles as well as harder, nihilistic hard rock. The band was founded in 1999 and principally consisted of singer Bernd Heinrich "Der Graf" along with various musical partners. He was accompanied for live shows with musicians Christoph "Licky" Termühlen, Henning Verlage, and Martin "Potti" Potthoff. The group's debut, Phosphor, came out in 2000.

According to the band, it was the biggest solo rock event of a German rock band. Along with the four DVDs comes a book with many pictures and reports from the concert.

The Symphony No. 8 "Lieder der Vergänglichkeit" by Krzysztof Penderecki is a choral symphony in twelve relatively short movements set to 19th and early 20th-century German poems. The work was completed and premiered in 2005. The symphony has an approximate duration of 35 minutes. Penderecki revised the symphony in 2007 by adding a few more poem settings and the piece has expanded to around 50 minutes. Although given the designation Symphony No. 8, it was not actually the final symphony Penderecki completed before his death in March 2020; the Sixth Symphony, begun in 2008, was not completed until 2017.
