Benjamin Goldthwait was a British army officer who served in King George's War and the French and Indian War. He fought in the Siege of Louisbourg (1745). He arrived in Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia in 1746 and then fought in the Battle of Grand Pre. He then fought during the French and Indian War in the Battle of Fort Beauséjour.

Robert Francis Goldthwait, better known as Bobcat Goldthwait, is an American comedian, director, actor, voice actor, and screenwriter, known for his acerbic black comedy, delivered through an energetic stage persona with an unusual gruff and high-pitched voice. He came to prominence with his stand-up specials An Evening with Bobcat Goldthwait – Share the Warmth and Bob Goldthwait – Is He Like That All the Time? and his acting roles, including Zed in the Police Academy franchise.

Goldthwait Sea

The Goldthwait Sea was a sea that emerged during the last deglaciation, starting around 14,000 years ago, in what is now the Gulf of Saint Lawrence and surrounding areas. At that time, the land had been depressed under the weight of the Laurentide Ice Sheet, which was up to 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) thick. Areas such as Anticosti Island and low-lying parts of Quebec and the Maritimes bordering the Saint Lawrence were below sea level. As the land rebounded over the next 3,000 years the sea retreated to roughly the present boundaries of the Gulf.

Mount Goldthwait

Mount Goldthwait is a prominent mountain located 2.5 nautical miles (4.6 km) south of Mount Dalrymple in the north part of the Sentinel Range, Antarctica. Discovered by the Marie Byrd Land Traverse Party, 1957–58, and named for Richard P. Goldthwait, consultant, Technical Panel on Glaciology, U.S. National Committee for the IGY, and later Director, Institute of Polar Studies, Ohio State University.
