Golmaal (formerly Buddhuram Dhol Duniya Gol) is a Bengali film directed by Narayan Roy starring Mithun Chakraborty along with Roopa Ganguly and Victor Banerjee. [1] [2] [3]
In Golmaal, Mithun Chakraborty plays the role of a cop named Buddhuram Dhol who is expected to solve all cases that come to him. Roopa Ganguly plays his love interest who later marries Kunal Padhi. She plays the role of the mother of Katha who runs away from her home.
Mithun Chakraborty is an Indian actor, film producer, screenwriter, entrepreneur and politician who predominantly works in Hindi and Bengali cinema. In a career spanning over five decades, he has done 350 films, mostly in Hindi and Bengali languages, and a few in Odia, Telugu, Kannada, Punjabi and Tamil. He is a former Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament. He is the recipient of three National Film Awards and Four Filmfare Awards. In January 2024, Chakraborty was awarded Padma Bhushan, the third-highest civilian honour by the Government of India. He was also awarded India's highest accolade in the field of cinema, the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for the year 2022, whose announcement came from the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in September 2024.

Roopa Ganguly is an Indian actress, playback singer and politician. She is best known for her portrayal of Draupadi in B R Chopra's hit television series Mahabharat. Often promoted as the Tollywood's answer to Bollywood's Shabana Azmi, she is known for her versatility and accent adaptation. Minister Fatakeshto is a 2007 Bengali language political action thriller film directed by Swapan Saha and produced by Shree Venkatesh Films. It is the sequel to MLA Fatakeshto (2006), and the second installment of the Fatakeshto series. The film stars Mithun Chakraborty, Koel Mallick, and Soumitra Chatterjee reprising their roles from the previous film with George Baker, Deepankar De, Shankar Chakraborty and Locket Chatterjee playing pivotal roles. The story, screenplay and the dialogues were written by N.K Salil, with soundtrack composed by Jeet Gannguli and action sequences designed by Judo Ramu. The film was a super-hit in the box office.
Yuddho is a 2005 Indian Bengali-language vigilante action thriller film written and directed by Ravi Kinnagi. Guru: Amake Sobai Jaane or simply Guru is a 2003 Indian Bengali-language gangster action thriller film co-written and directed by Swapan Saha. Produced by Nispal Singh under the banner of Surinder Films, it stars Mithun Chakraborty in the titular role, alongside an ensemble cast consisting of Jisshu Sengupta, Rachna Banerjee, Kaushik Banerjee, Laboni Sarkar, Kharaj Mukherjee, Locket Chatterjee and Kalyani Mondal in other pivotal roles, with Tapas Paul and Subhendu Chatterjee in guest appearances. The soundtrack of the film was composed by Babul Bose, while the background score was by S. P. Venkatesh. It revolves around a middle-class rickshaw driver of Kolkata named Raja, who always believes in non-violence and keeps himself away from any troubled situation. But all of a sudden to save his family from a notorious criminal named Kedarnath, he has to reveal his true identity from the past, of a dreaded gangster named Guru, which was hidden from his family as well as people of the area, to whom he was known to be a normal and frightened person. It is an unofficial remake of Baashha (1995) which itself is loosely based on Hum (1991).

It is a remake of the director's Marathi film Me Shivajiraje Bhosale Boltoy.

Challenge 2 is a 2012 Indian Bengali-language action thriller film directed by Raja Chanda. Produced by Shrikant Mohta under the banner of Shree Venkatesh Films. The movie is a remake of 2011 Telugu movie Dookudu which itself was inspired from German film Good Bye, Lenin! (2003). It stars Dev, Puja Banerjee, Tapas Paul, Ashish Vidyarthi and in lead roles, alongside, Rajatava Dutta, Kharaj Mukherjee, Subhasish Mukherjee and Kaushik Chakraborty in another pivotal roles, with Biswanath Basu and Labani Sarkar in guest appearances. The film is a spiritual sequel to the 2009 film Challenge, but contains a very different storyline. It revolves around an undercover officer as well as IPS Abhiraj Roy, who is on a mission to bring down the dreaded don Guru Nayak. But all on a sudden tragically he transforms into an MLA to fulfill his father's wish, who was in coma after meeting an conspiring accident as he was an honest and celebrated politician amongst the masses.

Produced by Srijani Chitram Pvt Ltd, the film was based on the play of the same name written by Utpal Dutt.
