Gombe is a traditional dish from Sogn og Fjordane in Norway. It is made from curdled unpasteurized milk which is boiled down with sugar for several hours. It is generally served with lefse. [1]

Nordfjord or Syltefjord is an abandoned fishing village in Båtsfjord Municipality in Finnmark county, Norway. The village is located along the Syltefjorden, about 30 kilometres (19 mi) east of the village of Båtsfjord. Nordfjord was formerly a trading post in the municipality, and it had a shop, school, Syltefjord Chapel, and a private post office. This village had Norway's highest zip code, 9992 Syltefjord, but it was discontinued in 1989 when the village was abandoned. Today, Nordfjord is used mostly for tourism and summer cottages. From Nordfjord, tourists can take sightseeing trips to the nearby seabird colonies at Stauran along the Syltefjorden.

Vereide Church is a medieval parish church of the Church of Norway in Gloppen Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It is the only stone church in the Nordfjord region. It is located in the village of Vereide, along the eastern coast of the Gloppefjorden. It is one of the four churches for the Gloppen parish which is part of the Nordfjord prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Bjørgvin. The white, stone church was built in a long church style in the 12th century by an unknown architect. The church seats about 460 people.

The Nordfjord—Sogn Detachment (NSD) is a major extensional shear zone in Norway up to 6 km in thickness, which extends about 120 km along strike from Nordfjord to Sognefjord, bringing Devonian continental coarse clastic sedimentary rocks into close contact with eclogite facies metamorphic rocks of the Western Gneiss Region. It formed towards the end of the Caledonian Orogeny and was mainly active during the Devonian. It has an estimated displacement of at least 70 km and possibly as much as 110 km. It was reactivated during the Mesozoic and may have influenced the development of fault structures in the North Sea rift basin.
