Gombeth is a constituent community of Borken (Hesse, Germany) and had its first documentary mention in 857 as "Gumbetta die Marka". Once an independent community, it was amalgamated with Borken in 1974. Gombeth is surrounded on all sides by former open-pit brown coal mines, being found to the south, towards Singlis (nowadays a windsurfing lake), and towards Borken. The pit east of Gombeth was filled in by PreussenElektra as part of the renaturation programme.

Giard is an unincorporated community in Clayton County, Iowa, United States. Its elevation is 1,122 feet (342 m), and it is located at 43°0′20″N91°17′21″W. A post office was established in the community on September 28, 1854; after being disestablished, it was restored on August 7, 1914, and operated until January 15, 1925, except for a short hiatus at the end of 1918.

Lendorf is a constituent community of Borken and had its first documentary mention in 1221 as "Lintdorf". Once an independent community, it has now been amalgamated with Borken since 1971. Lendorf has about 400 inhabitants.

The Molkenhaus near Bad Harzburg is a wooden house built in 1822, where cattle from the hillside pastures used to be milked without having to be driven miles to the surrounding farms. The house was owned by the manor of Bündheim-Bad Harzburg and, today, has been extended into a popular restaurant for day trippers and hikers. The property lies on the shores of the Hasselteich pond, about 3 km (1.9 mi) south of Bad Harzburg, east of the Rudolfklippe crags on a valley water meadow.
