Gordon Keith is an American broadcaster on KTCK SportsRadio 1310 AM "The Ticket" in Dallas, Texas. He has shared hosting duties with George Dunham and Craig "Junior" Miller since 1994.

Keith was born in Fort Worth, Texas. [1] He then lived in Mississippi before returning to Texas to graduate from Richardson High School. [2]

Radio career

Keith has been with Dallas sports radio station KTCK ("The Ticket") since before the station went on the air in January 1994. His first position was an unpaid intern for Skip Bayless' morning show. According to Keith, the role lasted two weeks. He started working with Craig Miller and George Dunham on the Dunham and Miller Show , and joined the show as an on-air personality when it moved to mornings in October 1996. [2]

He is known for his characters and celebrity impersonations, including Jerry Jones and Tiger Woods. [2] [4]

Nestor/Keith feud

A long-running feud has existed between members of The Ticket and Nestor Aparicio, an American sports writer and radio personality. On January 30, 2009, during Super Bowl week in Tampa, Florida, while roaming the Radio Row with a wireless microphone, Keith approached Aparicio in an alleged attempt to bury the hatchet. [5] Aparicio assaulted Keith before the scuffle was broken up by Super Bowl security. The incident was broadcast live during The Ticket's morning show. [6]

The FX drama Justified makes frequent use of the names of "Ticket" personalities for supporting characters as writer/producer V.J. Boyd is a former Dallas resident and an active fan of KTCK. [7] The sixth-season episode "Dark as a Dungeon" makes reference to Gordon Keith as Mary Steenburgen's character Katherine Hale recalls him as "beard, wouldn't shut up about Lee Harvey Oswald" and describes him as "kind of wheels off". The Gordon Keith character is unseen, a deceased mob assassin who links several other supporting characters together.

Recognition

In July 2017, Gordon Keith won the "DFW's Favorite Broadcaster" tournament hosted by The Dallas Morning News . [8]

Personal

Keith is a noted Lee Harvey Oswald enthusiast and revels in his actions on the day of John F. Kennedy's murder, as was noted in Justified . Keith went so far as to buy Oswald's bathtub from the estate of Oswald's wife Marina and then wrote loving words about it for his award-winning Dallas Morning News column. [9]

George William Dunham ; is an American radio personality and member of the Musers in Dallas, Texas. Dunham co-hosts the show with long-time friend and college roommate Craig Miller, along with their co-host Gordon Keith. A 1988 graduate of the University of North Texas, Dunham served as the football play-by-play commentator for the school's Mean Green Radio Network from 1994 until 2014. His first on-air experience was at KNTU, the University of North Texas campus radio station. His son was offered and accepted a football scholarship to attend UNT beginning in fall of 2010. Dunham talks about his past and playing football in junior high against hated rival Fredericksburg when he played special teams at Llano Junior High. Dunham's junior high football coach commonly referred to a player at Fredericksburg, called Pie Eater. Anthony Lynn, LA Chargers head coach and former Texas Tech running back during a radio interview on Thursday, June 20, 2019, asked Dunham about Pie Eater the former punter at Fredericksburg Junior High. Greg "Greggo" Williams is an American former radio personality. Williams was most recently co-host of the sports talk program RAGE with Richie Witt. It aired at 2pm-7pm on KRLD-FM, "The Fan" 105.3, in Dallas, Texas. Williams first became popular as 'The Hammer', Mike Rhyner's partner on KTCK's top-rated The Hardline drivetime show, but his tenure there ended abruptly in 2008 after 13 years on the air.

Norm Hitzges is an American author and sports talk radio host. He is a member of the Texas Radio Hall of Fame.

The Dunham and Miller Show is a morning drive-time radio show on KTCK The Ticket, broadcast in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. The show, active since 1994, airs from 5:30 am to 10:00 am on weekday mornings. The Dunham and Miller Show features George Dunham and Craig Miller as the two primary sports hosts, along with Gordon Keith, who adds cultural and comedic commentary. The three hosts are collectively referred to as the Musers, and two of them have been called comic geniuses by Hector Saldana of the San Antonio Express-News. The show has been nominated for the prestigious Marconi Award on seven separate occasions. This seventh time they won the Marconi for Major Market Personality's of the Year 2021. They also have received the Dallas Observer's Best Local Sports Radio Show award for 2011.
