Gottlieb R. Berger served as mayor of Murray,Utah from 1934 to 1941. [1] He was a foreman for the American Smelting and Refining Company (ASARCO),and was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles. He was a son of Murray founding father Gottlieb Berger who served on the city council when the city was incorporated. [2]
As Mayor,he was noted for his efforts to improve roads,especially collaborating with Midvale,Utah to improve roads between the two cities. [3] He died December 14,1973.

West Jordan is a city in Salt Lake County,Utah,United States. It is a suburb of Salt Lake City and has a mixed economy. According to the 2020 Census,the city had a population of 116,961,placing it as the third most populous in the state. The city occupies the southwest end of the Salt Lake Valley at an elevation of 4,330 feet (1,320 m). Named after the nearby Jordan River,the limits of the city begin on the river's western bank and end in the eastern foothills of the Oquirrh Mountains,where Kennecott Copper Mine,the world's largest man-made excavation,is located.

Interstate 215 (I-215),also known locally as the Belt Route,is an auxiliary Interstate in the U.S. state of Utah that forms a 270-degree loop around Salt Lake City and many of its suburbs. The route begins at the mouth of Parley's Canyon at a junction with I-80 east of the city center,and heads south through the edge of the Salt Lake City metropolitan area's eastern suburbs of Millcreek,Holladay,and Cottonwood Heights. It continues west through Murray before turning north again,passing through the city's first-ring western suburbs of Taylorsville and West Valley City. It then enters North Salt Lake and Davis County for a short distance before reaching I-15 northwest of the city center.
The Blue Line is a light rail line on the TRAX system in the Salt Lake Valley of Utah,in the United States,operated by the Utah Transit Authority (UTA). It is the first line of the TRAX system completed. The line opened on December 4,1999,one year ahead of schedule after two years of construction. In addition to Salt Lake City,it also serves the communities of South Salt Lake,Murray,Midvale,Sandy and Draper. The line was known as the North/South Line or the Sandy/Salt Lake Line until color names were adopted for each TRAX line in August 2011. An extension of the line to Draper began service on August 18,2013.

The Jordan River Parkway is an approximately 40-mile (64 km) urban park that runs along the Jordan River within the U.S. state of Utah. The parkway follows along the river from Utah Lake in Utah County,through Salt Lake County and onto the Great Salt Lake in Davis County. The majority of a mixed-use trail has been completed with a shared-use path for cyclists,skaters,and joggers. A separate equestrian path runs on the southern portion of the trail. Many trail-heads,city and county parks and golf courses are also located along the parkway.
The Red Line is a light rail line on the TRAX system in the Salt Lake Valley of Utah operated by the Utah Transit Authority (UTA). It originally began operation in December 2001 as the peak-hour-only Sandy/University Line,running from the University of Utah south to Sandy Civic Center on the Blue Line. Canyons School District is a school district in the southeastern portion of Salt Lake County in Utah,United States. The district includes the cities of Cottonwood Heights,Draper,Midvale and Sandy and the townships of Alta,Brighton and White City. Residents of those communities voted to create the district in 2007,making Canyons the first school district to be formed in the state in almost a century. Canyons has approximately 34,000 students in 50 schools. There are 29 elementary schools,eight middle schools,five traditional high schools,and eight special programs schools,including one technical school,a special education school and a high school for adults in prison. The district covers 192 square miles and employs 6,000 people.
Lynn F. Pett was mayor of Murray,Utah from 1990-1998. Prior to serving as Mayor,Pett worked in government service for six years as executive assistant to the mayor of Murray. Pett began his career in 1958 and has worked under five Murray mayors and two commissioners. He has also served on the Murray Community Education Program,the University of Utah Recreation and Parks Advisory Board,the Murray Boys and Girls Club Advisory Board and the Murray United Way Board. Pett was born in Eureka,Utah and graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Biology.
The American Eagle,later known also as Murray Eagle and The Green Sheet,was a newspaper that covered central Salt Lake Valley,especially the city of Murray,Utah. The beginnings of The American Eagle of Murray,Utah,are shrouded in mystery. The newspaper may have been published as early as 1891 as the American. Other sources list 1896 as the beginning publication date,before Murray was incorporated in 1903. The first known editor was Martin A. Willumsen. The Murray Eagle and Midvale Journal started out as the American Eagle. By 1908 the newspaper was named the Murray Eagle.
William E. Dunn was elected mayor of Murray,Utah for two four-year terms during 1965-1970,and elected as a Salt Lake County Commissioner from 1970 to 1979. He also ran for the statewide office of Secretary of State for Utah but was defeated in 1972.
